So I was thinking the other day...

Which is something I don't do too often if I don't have, and came up
with a random but seemingly probable solution to burning taste. I was
at my local hookah lounge the other day, where their bowls are all
prepped in advanced. They have about 150 bowls, about 8 per flavour
they have (including mixes) and they fill these bowls with whatever
tobacco, cover them with their aluminum foil and place them upside down
in their appropriate, labeled place. When someone takes an order of
lets say vanilla, they just take the vanilla, pull out a water filled
hookah and light her up. Now, me being such a hookah lounge addict, I'm
there often and decided one day to try a mix. It turned out to be a
great mix, at first. Unlike the other times, after he put the second
coal on (they take care of everything for you,) it started to taste
like the tobacco was already burnt. Now, especially for this place, it
was extremely weird. I go there because it's always good smoke, no
matter what! Now I found their weakness, and to my fortunate luck, I
created a hypothesis for my own hookah use. If, before hand, you have a
bowl already prepped with its tobacco, flipped over, the juices from
the tobacco will then go to the top of the bowl where the tinfoil is.
Now since all the flavour is on the top (where the tobacco normally
burns first) the top part will take longer to burn. I tried this
yesterday with a half hour prep and it worked pretty nicely, being able
to put my third coal without harming the taste. I have a bowl waiting
for me, it's been an hour, to see what will come of this. It seems like
an interesting theory and I know that this wasn't properly written, I'm
just a little excited. If anyone else has already had this idea or
anyone plans on trying it out after they read this post, tell everyone
how it goes here! Thanks a bunch!

Hmm...an interesting idea...I'm suprised the flavour didn't drop of even faster than usual at the end because all of the liquid was concentrated at the top and already smoked. Could be that enough of it seeped back down after a short period of time?

that is really simple- but at the same time brilliant. Since theres
always molass dripping down the bottom of the bowl, why not just let it
seep to the top. Next time i smoke im just gonna packa  bowl a
couple hours ahead of time and then just keep it upside down- and
before i smoke poke some holes and then go

it shudnt do if theres no holes in it and just before you have the hookah u put the holes in it should actully last alot longer.
let us know how you get on. im curious if this may be the BIG
breakthrough in mastering a nice long hookah session with less
interruptions (sp?) eg from coal or burnt flavour.
