Aw After 9

So I bought a 50g box of AW After 9 yesterday. I'm not big on the chocolate flavors but I thought I'd give this one a try. (the only other AW I've smoked is California Dreamin' and I really like it.) I'm having an issue with this one though. Both yesterday and today after about 45 minutes of smoking, the taste goes way south... It actually begins to taste really horrible.
I'm using a screen with 2 pieces of exoticas coals (about an inch and a quarter long.) set up on opposite sides of the bowl. I've taken the coals off and looked in the bowl and both times the shisha is not burning. (I thought maybe I had to much heat on it.)
has anyone else had this issue??
Oh, btw this is my 100th post!!!

Could be possible that if you ashed the coals they got bad on the bottom. Not sure why they do exactly but sometimes it's like they have burnt shisha-juice on them, and that ruins the taste. Besides that... I haven't a clue. I've had nothing but great experiences with after 9.

Weird.... I've had nothing but good luck with After 9. I use QLs though.

AW after nine is one of the few shishas I've had to throw away because nobody liked the taste.

I tried to give it away, but nobody who had smoked it would take it.

I believe the problem was similar to yours, it was ok for a while, then it started to taste nasty.

Did you try acclimating it? It's an unwashed shisha, and acclimating has helped with both AW and Nakhla for me.

its acclimated. the taste is just not something i like.

I bought some a while back and the first 2 bowls I smoked were just amazing, then I had the same problem as ganesha. I filed it into the circular bin.

I have some of the Tangiers Chocolate Mint that I want to try out here soon too. I know it will be good because it is Tangiers.

The tangiers chocolate mint is the bomb digity. Better than starbuzz and layalina.. havent tried the after9 yet but.. its probably better

I usually have good experiences with AW after 9 and at a time it was my favorite flavor, but then the last 50g pack I bought, tasted rubbish. So my friend gave it a wiff as well and also agreed with me that it does not smell like after 9....so I guess I got an off box...sigh so since then I am worried about getting another box incase its off....
