Device for starting naturals?

Recommended Posts

Ok.. so I've decided that in my next order, Im going to buy a bag of natural coals. I figure I might as well try em out.

I have a gas stove... so I know I need something to leave them in on
the stove while they heat up. I want to spend as little money as
possible. It seems the trays(that I thought were intended for this)
often do not have holes in the bottom. So..

What is the best way to go about this?

go to a camping/outdoor store and you can buy the small camping
cooksets that come with a small pan, and pot combo.  The nice
thing is,  they are very cheap(usually around 4-7 bucks) and the
have a handle on them.  Just drill a few holes on the bottom of
the pan and your set.  The pan themselves are usually around 5-7
inches in diameter,  so they are pretty good size for just
throwing a few coals onto to heat up. They are usually made
of  aluminum, or some sort of cheap  steel.

You can also grab a can of saurkraut and eat the contents, clean the
can and drill some holes on the bottom of the can and heat your coals
that way as well."Mr. Bubble" stylee :)
