Your Dream Hookah?

Recommended Posts

Hi All, we are working on our new design. we have many new stuff soon. however; We really like to know what would you guys like to see. what changes? what colors? and my very important question what kind of designs would you like to see. We want you guys to dream it and we will try to bring it to life. if most members will agree to a new design we will try to build it. I think this is a great activity.
All ideas welcome.

Actually, Bubble.... you have a point.
I would like to see an egyptian design with the big flaring protrusions, but cast and lathed instead of stamped pieces of sheet metal soldered together. Couple that with a real stainless line running down it. and you would have one solid and easy to clean machine.
On to what I would like to see in a hookah. More focus on function. Appearance and gimmicky design for the sake of the "eye" is secondary to me. All that sells well of course..... but I have been waiting and doing a little designing of my own that puts function ahead of everything else.
At the end of the day.. an experienced hookah smoker wants a solidly made machine that doesnt leak air or water, is easy as pie to clean and smokes freely.... has less risk of breakage....etc.
I think what ppl really want is a good base machine that is classic..... and then have it where customization options are very open.... this allows the smoker to take the appearance and perfomance of the hookah to theyre own personal level.

I appreciate this alot.  Great idea.  I personally would also like to see lathed stems, I would be interested in a clear or somewhat transparent base as well, it is nice to see the smoke build up and move around.  The hose must be washable and long.  I think if the "coal catcher" (I dont know what its called sorry) had some sort of design on it that would be nice maybe kind of life leaves fanning outwards from the stem stamped into it.  Also the stem would look nice with some sort of art work on it.  It doesn't need to be elaborate or anything just something traditional.  I personally am interested in acrylic Hookahs because I like the durability offered however I understand this isn't always possible or well liked.  In terms of the base I think the shape can be played with both to be original as well as to be maybe more functional.  Perhaps a really wide flate bottom on it so it has a large base and then it could get thinner and this would be where you would fill too and then the base could open up again maybe into a spherical shape and this would be a nice smoke chamber.  I find almost all of the hookah bases have that same shape and I dont particularly love it.  A very nice touch but I understand an expensive one is hoses with work done on the handles like the really nice Mya Saray ones, nothing beaded or anything but simple and elegant.  I think taht should be the theme simple and elegant with a unique twist.

Great idea of asking forum members!!

Large base,
Nice to look out E.g to me the abyss on hookah-shisha under mods looks stunning !!.
great smoke ,
Easy to clean
preferbly screw in metal? not plastic.
Autoseal - maby able to get rid off easily? just a thought btw.
grommet FREE hookah - future hookahs with no grommets just perfect seal sound great!.
and ermmm...stunning mix of egyption mixed in contrast with the shades
of modern future- ( black and silver are example of modern hoohah not
green and pink )

im studying art so alot of this is fimilar stuff.

While This is not my dream hookah, I do have some suggestions for your current line.

Sell stargate pieces, mix and match style. This would let people build whatever size they wanted, and different colors.

Make the Stargate bass bigger. It just looks top-heavy to me, and would definitely be so if hyou built it up taller.

Use grommets instead of threaded vases. Less possibility of wear, and can be remedied with a $2.00 rubber grommet.

Offer glass basses.

Market the grenade, tank, camo, et al under a different name. Those are just embarassing.

Use Peltier junctions to cool the stem and base.

Make multi-hose units with removable purge valve.

And (I know I'll get slammed for this, but the tech geek in me rears
its ugly head) use diffused LEDs to make the base light up like the
Lord of the Rings glasses from Burger King.

This is a good idea, but it will end in the 6' stargate that wabbles like a flagpole in a high wind.  You'd need guide wires to keep this think upright.

HAHAHAHA - , thats true but yeh selling
the stems alone in different colours would be great , make your own
Unique hookah! then we can share them on the forum!

* sorry for the stargate lovers out there but when i first saw it i thought it was a KETTLE !! - easy mistake to make though !

well personaly i love glass.   a hookah made with alot of glass
would be sweet.  like color changing glass for the stem.
maybe even the bowl and everything.   but thats just the pot head
in me.
I love the look of the stargate, but i agree with the mix and match
ideas.  you should  be able to build your own
hookah. just go to a webpage choose a base, a stem a head,
ext.....

hmm, it'd be sweet if the hoses connected via two etched glass
surfaces, ie the end of the hose made of glass (and acid etched to make
it friction-y), and a little glass piece on the hookah , also etched,
to accept it... this is similar to how many .. OTHER water pipes make
connections.  this completely eliminates the need for
grommets.  plus, glass is easily malleable in production and this
can lead to extremely cool looking things.. downside, it's highly
fragile.  this would be difficult, probably impractical, but
interesting to consider i think.

and the ash catcher tray on the hookah, i've always thought these would
be sweet with some kind of beads hanging down from them. i'm sure i've
seen this before, but it's definitely something i've always wanted in a
hookah.. now that i mention it, i think i'm gonna try and do that to my
hookah right now

hmm.... the eternal question of the base... well, i love the way glass
vases look, but i love the durability and screw-on function of the
acrylic vases.  perhaps offer both , like mya does, or better yet,
come up with a way to sell BOTH with a hookah.  i put a grommet on
my hookah to put it into a glass vase, take the grommet off, and it
screws into the acrylic vase.  selling one of each with a hookah,
plus all the required parts to make a NICE conversion would be
excellent in my opinion.  glass to be fancy, acrylic to take
outside and transport.

the stem, i also like the way mya does these by offering interchangable
parts (i'm pretty sure they do anyway).  there is a solid tube up
the center, and all the decorations screw on around it.  this
allows for immense customizability.  however, i do like the
sturdiness and simplicity of a simple lathed piece of stainless steel
seen on many egyptian style hookahs.  i guess i'd say just go with
a single piece of stainless steel.  but etched or engraved designs
in one would be KILLER.  hmm... .hookah engraving... there's an
idea...

well i don't have any other ideas, but hopefully this will liven up the
debate in this thread (Because it's an example of what makes the
internet great, if you ask me)

Ok I had an idea last night for a double bowl on a hookah.  However instead of being a party bowl and burning both at once have some sort of valve to determine which bowl is active that way if you have some friends over you can pack a bowl of strawberry and a bowl of melon smoke one for a bit and they just switch over by pulling or turning something and smoke the other.  This way you dont have to prepare a second bowl just move a switch.  I can clarify this more I even have a design I think might work in my head it would be simple but work I think.  Could be a useful and unique adaption for Taqseem since I definetly aint making it someone should.

A buddy of mine actually made pretty much what you described. He went
to Home Depot into the plumbing section, bought some metal piping that
went over the stem just a few inches, then it Ts a few inches, then a
bend in each "T" upward. It looks pretty much JUST like the double bowl
clay bowl, but made out of metal tubing, with a valve in the middle.

He said it worked well, but can be a hassle to clean ;)

This would be a wonderful idea!  Just have some preselected stem lengths and there you have it!  It is a great feature, that's why HH has it.  Customization!
