Smoking Nakhla With Phunnel?

I have been using my normal traditional bowl, but i can only pack it so full, and since nakhla is dry, it burns up in like 30 min, after about 30 min it starts to taste burnt. When I use 2 1/4 pieces of exoticas i get pretty good clouds w/ a wind cover, but not as good as i'd like, and it lasts about 30 min, if I use 3 1/4 it burns up real quick. So I can't really find that happy medium, so I figured if I used a phunnel and used 3 1/4 pieces which is 1/4 less than I use with Fantasia and the phunnel, (seeing how wet Fantasia is) I would think that would be a good setup, what do you guys think?

Anyone else use nakhla w/ the phunnel and have a good setup?

Yeah i guess i could do that, but id rather not play w/ the flavor/tobacco. Anyone able to shed light on the phunnel/nakhla?

He has already told me, he personally has had better luck in a traditional bowl, but I think his is a little bit bigger than mine, allowing for some extra tobacco and not as much of a burning effect that I am experiencing.

Do you have a mod for the phunnel? I think that helps with nakhla. But yea JD or Scali would now for sure.

I've smoked Nakhla Mint mixed with AF Mint mixed with Layalina Strawberry/Kiwi..it was damn tasty.

you can definately smoke nakhla from a phunnel bowl, but make sure you use a mod. if your nakhla is dried out you could add a little honey or glycerin, but not too much, otherwise it will diminish the flavor.

See now im confused, I would think w/ wet tobacco you would need a mod, to get under the tobacco, and burn it up, but with dry I figured it would just all burn eventually, no?

the mod makes sure that the heat flow through the tobacco and it makes heat management a little easier. it`s not just neccesarily for wetter tobacco brands.

the mod was made for people who dont pack the bowl to the top.

i have a phunnel, and mod. the mod you really dont need for anything.

i smoke all tobacco with the phunnel w/ no mod.

since its practically impossible to get wet nakhla here, i add a little glycerin (not to the point of it being soaking, just glistening a little) and pack it in the phunnel. i pack it like tangiers, works well.

I smoke nakhla almost exclusively, and i always use a normal bowl. I've found it helps just using tightly wrapped double layered foil, and adding about a teaspoon of honey to a bowls worth of tobacco. I only use honey when the tobacco is exceptionally dry. Fold the foil instead of using two pieces. Also make smaller holes using a needle instead of larger, say toothpick sized holes. Edited April 28, 2008 by Majid
