resixpromo
QUOTE (toast @ Apr 29 2008, 02:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>i've been smoking using golden coals, three kings, and star lights. a few people are telling me natural coals are far better with taste and burn time. should i believe them? what kind of natural coals do you smoke? how long do they last?I used to only smoke with 3Kings but when I moved over to natural coals, I instantly could tell the difference. I can even stand to use 3 Kings anymore because of the chemical taste they bring. Now, the 2 big naturals are Exoticas and Coconaras. After using both for a while now, I have found that Coconaras are far superior over exoticas but the Exocs get a star for price.
mushrat
I use Belgian Natural 40mm disks here at the bar. They cost more but are quite worth it in my opinion. They last as long if not longer than exoticas. Never tried the coconaras.
OC4111
I'm going to have my 1st session with naturals tonight. Exoticas to be exact and am hoping it makes a difference.
Bandit402
Coco naras all the way. I'd always used the 3 kings quicklites...what a waste of my hookah experience! The coco's last longer and don't give out any flavor.

ryno
I've had the opposite of alot of people lately. I prefer Exoticas of Cocos. I think the burn a little longer, and are a little cheaper.

superomario
Depending on where you light your coals, naturals are superior in that they impart the least amount of taste to the smoke, but they require a heating element vs a lighter and like quicklights they do have a smell when lighting which may not be pleasant in a confined space.I have also heard from other hookah-head friends that coconaras don't even compare to cocobrico, although I haven't seen cocobrico sold in the USA yet. Drums13182
had a questions about naturals....i ordered some and i am gonna use them at home when i have time to light them...i just wanted to know the best quick way to get them lit...and using the smallest source of lighting possible...i was thinking a butane lighter but i cant find one where i live and i dont really want to order one...any suggestions would be sweet
cartercdad
where can you get coconaro coals and afternine at. i have been looking and cannot seem to find it at all
leadpipecinch21
a propane torch is probably your best bet for being the fastest, and probably the most convenient, but if you're smoking at home a coil burner like on an electric stove is probably the easiest. you can buy single ones for $10 at walgreens if you don't have an electric stove. Glad I changed over. Now I just need to try coco nara to see which ones are better. Has anybody tried these from HC? http://www.hookahcompany.com/coconut_hooka...l_1121_prd1.htm
