What about removig the top layer of shisha that's been cooked, mixing what's let with some more shisha to fill up the bowl, wrap it up and light it up. Am I wrong in thinking that?

do you think you could make a "mini phunnel" that only holds 20g tops ? im sick of wasting tangiers in my small phunnel and i cant afford to keep buying tangiers if i only get 7-8 bowls out of a 250g when i can get 10+ with layalina/fusion/al fakher and a mod bowl

You can smoke tangiers out of a normal bowl as easily as you would out of a phunnel. I don't think it was designed around a phunnel in the first place.

No you deff right that you dont need a phunnel. But the only normal bowl I use that I have a good time with is the mod bowl and I used my scale to see how much I used.....34 grams ohmy.gif

you are correct. The phunnel came after the tobacco.

I'd buy an extra small funnel. I've never smoked a small funnel even halfway through -- who wants to smoke the same flavor for 4 hours, especially if by the time you hit the third round of coals the flavor just isn't as vivid as it is when the bowl is fresh? Now that the weather is nice, I can get a good Tangiers smoke out of any bowl. I've been using the old MNH Glass funnel and small Egyptians.

I agree, a smaller funnel bowl would be nice. Thats the biggest grip I have against my small Tangiers funnel.

I've used a scalli mod with the small funnel, but unfortunately the air flow is very restrictive; but on the plus side the flavour was more intense.

Dare I say it, when smoking non-tanigers tobacco the cheap funnel bowls you can buy from German website have the advantage!

if you took foil and packed it in the bottom and around the out side so it was very, very firm to shrink the size would that work very well?

heck even if you took some epoxy or other filler/resin that would withstand the heat and not break down/off gas when cured from the heat that may work.

all just random ideas.

you could also use glass or clay/ceramics, maybe even some metal but all those would require some more skill and equipment. hmm even if you got a glass rod and bent it into a doughnut shape with just a mapp torch that would take up some space but i am not sure if you will need to baby the glass like you do when you hot work the glass (slowly cool it from like 950* F over a long time) but i kind of doubt you do.

i think using foil will work ok as long as you take a piece of wood (like the back end of a kitchen spoon that is rounded off and very smooth) and pack, push, and kind of burnish the foil smooth. should only take a few extra mins to do it if you need to redo it

I reuse Tangiers Tobacco all the time as others here do too. Just scrape off the top layer that is generally stuck to the foil and mix the old with the new and repack.

Hey, I dont know if this will work with Tangiers as its kinda tricky but I use my phunnel for AF all the time and when I want a shorter session I make a half ring out of foil and only pack half the bowl with tobacco. Give it a try.

i think one of my friends does that just with out even putting anything in the other half. it was ok but their hookah is never very good, ok but never great so not sure if that way will work well with out taking up that space
