Nubbs,

you may have missed my meaning - I wasn't referring to you as a newbie.

I have not deleted your comments, and I'm fairly sure that If myself or mushrat delete comments we pm you the details and reasoning.

I, personally, am not going to retrieve the post you are referring too. That's up to mushrat, or the moderator that deleted it [I'm afraid I can't see who deleted it]

There is nothing personal in my comments to you, and as ever, This thread or comments within will not, or should not, change anything.

Just a personal message from me.

JD

You compared me to a noob.

If you dont even know why or who I was bashing(which I never pointed fingers) then why did YOU bring it up?

And Mush posted on the topic that "bashing will not be tolerated" I was never pm'd!

I think you need to take some time to cool down and think about all this. It can be voluntary or otherwise...

Where, exactly, did I refer to you as a newbie?

Sorry, I thought you were comparing me to a noob. I misread "Newbies ask questions" I thought you were referring to me, but I now realize you were only talking about newbies in general. My appoligies.

It's laziness. Everyone feels that they can get away with posting a topic and getting a bunch of quick answers after walking away from the computer for an hour instead of going and skimming through topics to see if there are any that are similar in problems.

I disagree with this vehemently. I feel that each time a new thread is posted things get discussed differently, other's chime in with ideas and opinions that might have been missed in previous discussions.

Also new ideas, new methods of thinking and approaches will come out of re-discussions.

JD

actually...i tend to go with the lazyness factor for MANY of the duplicate posts. it's just easier to ask the question than to find the answer. But thats human nature in my opinion. I also feel JD has a valid point as well..each time a subject comes up there are going to be new answers and new people putting in their opinions, so if you see a thread you think is a wast of your time...JUST DON'T READ IT. That will sav many of you the stress of dealing wiht yet another tangiers thread.

as fpr the search engine, i use the advanced settings and have no problem finding something im looking for.

I also agree with that. BUT if its an answer your looking for somthing that has been posted tons of times then its annoying. BUT if its something specific your looking for then the new topic can be over looked, unless the question is so close to another topic that it SHOULD just be added to the topic it pertains to.

it's only annying if you READ it. Otherwise it just doesn't really exist to you. The world isn't a perfect place afterall.

and sometime I delete a post i don't think is apprpriet and i dont bother saying anything, just normal daily housecleaning we do.

so thats why my thread about how I shit my pants in class the one time this past semester, disappeared? o well, saved me a lot of grief

I think its /endthread time...its turning into a battle way away from topic

edit:damn mush, ahead of me, eh lol Edited by r1v3th3ad

IBTL!

Seriously though, this is the internet. People are going to be lazy, they're going to be newbies, they're going to be assholes. But luckily when you boil it down to brass tacks, your reputation on the internet is worth absolutely dick. So theres no point in yelling at newbs, flaming each other, or getting offended by something someone said. Like my mother always said, if you don't have something helpful or at least amusing to say, keep it to your self. Edited by camelflage
