Namor Hose Problem

so i cleaned the hose when i first got it and alot of black shit came out then the water was clear so i started to smoke up with it but it had a madd plasticy taste....then i cleaned it again with soap and a hard scrub and more black shit came out and this time i thought it was clean but nope still a weird ass taste...any suggestions

All I used was warm water. I blew it threw the hose several times, then blew in with air until it was dry. If it's a new hose, you will have a slight plastic taste for the first session or two but then it'll go away. Especially if you smoke a strong flavored shisha.

It took about 4 or 5 smokes for me until the taste went away. It's apparently made out of th same stuff as garden hoses so it will outgas that taste for a while.

The stuff coming out, sometimes black, sometimes purple according to some folks, seems to be a narmal thing with a new Namoor. Not too much to worry about.

Like mushrat says it's going to take a couple of sessions before the taste is away. I've had mine for a week now and the taste is finally going away. You can run lemon juice through the hose and that helps but I would just wait after a couple of sessions.

i figured out what it was....i took the gormet rubber piece out from were the mout tip attaches and there was like an excess piece of plastic wrapper on it for some reason that was burnt....idk how it got there maybe a defect or w/e but the taste is basically gone now lol....really weird tbh

run some vinegar and then lemon juice though it and them smoke mint,lemon or orange out of it and you should be fine

I completely gave up on the Nammor after two weeks of not being able to get the plasticy flavor out. I went and bought one of those plastic hoses that cost 7 bucks at HS and I am thrilled with that purchase and will be getting a few more of those as backups. Sometimes you just can't believe the hype.

Yeah, the black/purple stuff that comes out is from the mouthpiece and the piece that goes into the hookah. Its pretty much the ink they use to dye the wood inserts on the ends. After a good wash or two, the ink will stop bleeding out from the wood. It took me a couple of washes to get the plastic taste out as well, but its a great hose. I'm still not a fan of its frilly looks but it smokes like a champ along with my bored out Mya Double wide.

hey quick tip. Don't wash your nammor with hot water too frequently. You will crap out the glue used to keep it together.

Nick, its actually the plastic inner part thats been dyed on the mouthpice and connector. I actually that it was a wood insert, but its not. I guess they don't wash them from the factory to get the extra dye off. If they did make Nammors with wooden ends, i'd be on that bandwagon in an instant.
