What Do Qls Look Like Lit Up?

Recommended Posts

Ive been getting some interesting qls lately (3k), I even accidently bought a pack of fakes (they sucked worse than a octupus) but what do your qls look like lit up? Are the raised part and part of the bottom lit and thats it? parts of it? all of it?

I usually blow it to get it fully red...

When I used them I made sure that the whole coal was had a light coat of ash. I would make sure the bottom part had not black in it. I usually would have to blow on it to make sure all the black was gone.

OC has it right. They should be ashed all over. No black showing or you will end up getting an even worse chemical taste than normal.

I think it depends on what kind of burner you're using.

With my butane blow-torchy lighter, I end up holding it over a sink and blowing on it until it gets completely red, however it takes less time and gives a chemical tastes.

Honestly, the best advice I was ever given on this forum was to go to WalGreens, buy a $10 coil burner, and let the coal sit on there for about 6 minutes. That has solved my coal issues completely. They will look nearly completely orange/red, with GREY on the outside, not BLACK.

I use a propane camp stove and an electric heater to get them fully red.

The qls I use would make you spend a good 5 minutes blowing on them, leaving you light headed from all of the breathing and chemicals.
