My very first hookah order came with a box of Golden Quicklights. They worked fine for me then, but obviously that doesn't say much since it was my first hookah experience and I didn't know much about what I was doing. I do remember that they would randomly explode though. I'd be in the middle of a nice smoke session and the coal would explode, sending 5 burning chunks in 5 different directions.

lol nice. Well I've personally only seen one coal "explode" and I've gone through boxes and boxes and boxes. Sometimes the 33mm do split layers while they're lighting on me, they don't fall apart but you can see a small line form b/t a layer.

the 44mm NEVER gave any problems sparking, exploding, splitting.

If you ever get a chance add a roll or two onto an order and try them. (or we could trade if you have something good wink.gif)

well i will say that my exodicas leave less tast than sultain quicklites, and they are larger and burn longer, but i wouldnt ay that the differences are extrordanary. however i realy dislike 3kings, gun powder is anoying and smelly, exodicas smell like a campfire.

As for concerns regarding chemicals in quicklight coals -- I've never understood where this idea comes from. The chemicals added to make the coal self lighting burn off during the lighting process. After that, it's no less "natural" than any other coal as far as I can tell.

I agree with this. However the problem with naturals, ql's or lumpwood and taste is going to be down to personal palatte.

Remember that what works for one won't work for another. However I can taste teh exotica's for a second or two - just remember with any coal to make sure it's fully lit before smoking!
