mushrat
Was on a business trip to a Beer festival here in Raleigh and won a complete home brew kit. Going to start with the free stuff they gave me to make an Irish Stout. Then I'm switching to mead. Anyone else home brew?

Jeff_T
That would be part of my dream job right there. I would love to start home brewing, just need the funds to buy the initial kit and then time to experiment.

MechAnt
Brother Buford was huge into home brewing but he's been gone since his wedding. Shoot him a PM, he'll probably get back to you with much enthusiasm. I believe there was a search on it as well.

Voski
I would but I'm not 21. There was a good episode of "Good Eats" about home brewing.

mushrat
We are going to have a bbq, hookah smoking, beer making gathering at my place a week from Sunday. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'll try to take some pictures.Place: I was a Contract archaeologist so I did a lot of Phase 1 surveys. Digging along the proposed routes for roads and pipelines to make sure nothing of historical interest would be destroyed by construction. Occasionaly we'd do a phase 2 or even a phase 3, which is what most people consider a "dig" where yu actuall have a site and are digging it out with the while trowel, dental pick, whisk broom kinda deal. I've worked eveything from Indian Villages to a Irish Catholic cemetery to empty round holes up and down the national forest in Arkansas.

Dirk Skene
I was a home brewer for years. Great hobby. You are a lucky fellow for winning the kit. With mead be very, very paticent (forgive spelling please). It takes a long fermintation & several rackings to clean it well. I used honey from a local beekeeper & bought it by the gallon.
