al_salaam
HiMy friend managed to badly dent the stem of his KM trimetal...(ie the bit which goes inside the vase)The size of passage leading through the stem is now much smaller at that point, so much less smoke is now produced...anyone got any ideas for how to sort this out? teq
You have one of two options: A ) Make two cuts on either side of the bend and then rejoin the pieces. If you're worried about aesthetics and don't have access to a brazing kit, any hardware store sells silver reflective tape that should match the stem.B ) Opt for uniformity and cut off the entire stem, replacing it with one solid piece of tube or pipe. You can leave some of the old stem to act as a flange and attach the new tube/pipe over it. As far as less smoke being "produced", I would say one kink in the stem won't affect airflow significantly. It could, however, be messing with the pressure. It's also possible that there's a small hole, giving you less pressure through the stem.
