i think it is fair for vendors to participate, I might not be able to write for a week or so, but it doesn't take much to write a couple blurbs or retorts..especially with all the help some of the members give. I stress some.
this is a good resource to keep up with products and customers..so why not say hey...everyonce in awhile

+1 that was exactly what I was thinking. Thats the whole point of having this topic. Who says everything the vendors post has to be business related?

In fact, vendors are supposed to be posting non-vendor related posts to contribute to the forum as a whole. Something a few of our newer vendors seem to be missing...and may soon be gone.

I think it is fair to have vendors discuss and chit chat every week or so. There are many arguements, some you guys have already stated, but when it comes down to it, I think it is only fair for vendors that are using this forum to promote and advertise, that they should help out a bit in the community and chat on here. I agree with JD that 10 minutes of their time is not that much and not crucial to making or braking their business. If they want the advertisement it's the least they could do. And besides wouldn't online vendors give discounts anyways just not under the name they use currently for discounts if they didn't exist on here? If a few companies do it in the industry, it seems most, usually follow to try to compete. I think the vendors on here right now, if they weren't on here they would still have a form of discount coupons that anyone could search on Google and use.

So what I am getting at is, to me that isn't really a good enough incentive for them to not participate on the boards, because they would most likely offer it whether they were on here or not. Edited May 20, 2008 by mattarios2
