Got A Bigger Hookah, Gets Hot Too Fast?

Recommended Posts

I had a MYA QT hookah that I used to have and it hit perfectly everytime, I normally used ice in the base with water, and packed it good but not too tight and made a lot of small holes. I recently sold my QT and got a MYA ____ not sure but its a little bit bigger and it came with a carrying case and all that and some crazy lookin tongs, I must admit. But we used it today and at first it was great but it got hot really fast...I'm not sure what I'm doin wrong because I used water and ice in the base...i packed the shisha the same way i did with my other one, and I did lots of small holes again and i used a Three Kings coal just as i did for the other one. Any tips on how i can get it to hit good for a long time? Maybe its cause I'm not used to workin with a bigger hookah but some tips would be great.

And today, I finally got AL Fakher shisha instead of Nakhla and I got the double apple and it was soo much bette compared to the nakhla flavors i was gettin...just thought i should say

The bowl was hot too, but the smoke was hot when you were hitting it. But yeah tomorrow I will try out like half a coal or something if i can break them or somethin haha or whats somethin better i can do? And I did notice that the al fakher burned a lot faster. Thanks.

like once you get the shisha goin if it starts to get hot just purge your hookah and put the coal like half on the bowl and just start rotating it around the bowl every 5-10mins while you smoke so you cook all the shisha and not burn any

Full metal Mya stems (chrome coated brass) transfer heat very well, too well. The stem (about halfway down) gets too hot too touch when using a windcover. This could potentially melt the tiny washer that is between the top of the center stem and the Bowl Adapter (where you put the bowl).

The mini mya acrylic's stem gets hot/warm to the touch when I used a wind cover. It sometimes also just gets warm. Sometimes if i really get annoyed I would just get a cold towel and wrap around it.

As for bowls, they are supposed to be as hot as possible, it's supposed to cook your shisha. And you don't want any tobacco touching the foil, like flat on. At the end if you take your foil off and it sticks to a lot of shisha, it's probably packed too high.

as for coal pieces, fair sized pieces are best, like for quicklights, i use halves. place them around the bowl, not in the middle. then as it's dying, a few coals could go in the middle.

Nikon--I was packin my bowl a little bit too tight and I will do that next time for sure, I actually used two sheets of foil cause my friend did that one time and it actually separated the coal from the shisha enough to make a difference and my pack lasted for like an hour and a half which is a first but probably not that good to some of the lenghths of time people on here have gone with one pack...i saw the longest pack thread haha.

Zen- I don't use a windcover and the stem hasn't gotten hot yet so it seems fine so far thanks though.

anathema- I thought there was enough space inbetween but since its stickin i guess not and thats probably why it burns so fast. So that should solve one of my problems, and yeah I usually just light a full three kings coal and work it around the outside then the center, I thought about breakin them in half but i didnt know if they would like break up on me or not but today i broke one of my friends in half and it was fine so i will definitely try that.

Thanks
