willbb123
I work for a theatre in Iowa and a ballet company rented us this weekend for there production of Alice In Wonderland. They have a giant mushroom and sitting on top is a hookah! It is so fake looking its really funny. It looks like a plastic fence or a lawn ornament painted gold and they put fake jewels on it. There is a second show tonight Ill take a pic of it on stage Ill also take a close up of it.Will

johnb73
do you do FOH sound as your main source of income? the pic is a bit blurry, but i got the idea... if it was a real hookah it would probably kinda neat i guess

willbb123
johnb73No I don't usually run FOH. I am technically at the theatre as a stage hand, but most of the time I am the rigger/fly op. The theatre only has a few employees and one of them quit to go get married and our lighting designer is about to leave to go to work in a real theatre in New York or somewhere. So we are all scrambling to learn all the jobs because we are going to have to run the theatre with basically 3 part-timers and 1 full time, until they hire more. I have run sound in past, but it was just a ballet so all it was was pressing play on the cd player and keeping it at a constant volume. When my boss asked if I was comfortable running FOH I got excited cause I had never ran a board that large in a "real" theatre, but then he told me it was only a cd no mics.... And sorry about the pic, It was off my treo camera phone. There wasnt enough light backstage so I got out my flashlight and lit it with that. And I would never trust my hookah on stage... especially with ballet dancers, most graceful people onstage, but offstage they run into everything... mobbedwell now its at least you and me
