Triple Bowl Question

Recommended Posts

I just got in a triple head bowl for my 3-hose Syrian Chiller. Now that I have it I realize I am not sure how to best make efficient use of it. I know it will be convenient for mixing flavors. I already have some ideas for that. But, assuming I load the bowls properly, can I light the charcoals 1 at a time for a longer session? Or will the smoke be thin because I am only pulling smoke from 1 of 3 holes at a time? blush.gif

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the best way to use one of those triple head bowls is to put it in a drawer, forget about it, and move on to a single head. The triple bowls are so small and shallow that even a 1/2 piece of a 33mm on each head will provide too much heat and make it burn, while still not providing thick smoke or much flavor. Plus the flavor mixing doesn't work anywhere near as well as just mixing different kinds by hand and putting them into the same bowl (or layering, depending on preference and flavors).

Well it's tricky. To use pack pretty loose and use foil. Half a Coconara is good heat. problem is the session won't last more than 45 minutes on a good day with the little tobacco you can put in there.

I do prefer using a single head but these are fun to pull out now and again. At parties and with friends. But if I solo it's a single head bowl.

To answer the original question, no, you have to start up all 3 bowls at once, orm as you suspected, you will still be drawing in air from the unmlit bowls and this will reduce your smoke density quit a bit. The only way I can think to do it if you want to soke them one at a time is to NOT punch the holes in the other 2 bowl's foil until you are ready to smoke and put a new pice of unpoked foil over te bowls you have already smoked. Kind of a pain in the ass but it could be done.
