jezter6
Hi! New here and all but I love my el-cheapo hookah I picked up at some hippie shop a few years ago. It's not a great hookah but it's fun to do and I can't wait to get actual smoke clouds like you guys do - even with Hookah-Hookah baccy it's just about the same as a cigarette puff. Anywho, one of the things that always scares or bothers me is the tip-over factor. I keep mine up on a coffee table because it's stable, but I'd like to put it on the floor so that my hose doesn't get sort of crimped because my hookah is up higher than me. Has anyone devised a way (or do they sell?) to ensure the hookah stays up? sort of like a stand that you could slide the hookah into that has some feet going out to prop it up? I'm just always scared that one little pull on the hose will send my charcoal tumbling to to couch and my apartment is on fire. It would be great for hookah lounges as well, as they would have less tip-overs due to inexperienced n00bs tipping the hookah.
Stuie
It's DIY TIME!!!!Nothing is made or produced like that to my knowledge. So take a trip to the lumber store or construction site and bust out the nails and hammer and make one.I have seen people carve a hole into an end table they got from a garage sale for that purpose. Works well.
liquidglass
yeah nothing is sold for that but I'm sure you could make it No problem. you just need something to secure the base and then you can make your own "feet" for it. here are some ideas for now though1) a towel wrapped around the base to make it more stable2) foil or a locking windcover to keep the coals off the floor/couch. Drums13182
put the whole base of the hookah in a bucket of ice and water...it takes the "ice in the base" to a new extreme and it stabilizes the hookah really well..and if it does fall over, the coals will probably fall into the ice/water mix

Pontios
Hi!I have seen special hookah tables with built-in hookahs (n'argile table).I think they are Moroccan or Syrian. If I find a webshop that sells them I will post the link.

Kusk
Yeah, besides specialty tables styled from the middle east, I haven't seen an official product to stabilize the base, prob because of the range of shapes the base can come in (mya vortex vs phalcor vs typical egyptian). I've seen a hookah bar use homemade base stabilizers using a heavier metal base plate with a small cage-like thing where you put and strap the hookah in. They also put a removeable tube of light metal mesh (most likely from gardening supplies) around the bowl to keep coals from getting knocked off. I'd say both are pretty good ideas if you smoke in a car alot
