Hookah Problems

I have had my hookah for about 6 months now, smoking occasionally. Recently however, even after thourough cleaning, I really do not get much taste. Why does this happen?

The other, more important, problem has just started the past two times I have tried to smoke. The only thing that has changed is I ran out of coals and bought some new ones, same brand as the others. When I smoke using them, the smoke makes me gag and want to throw up (even just a tiny puff). Is this the coals (the three kings ones from holland or w/e, came in a 10pack), or something else?

Hi wiibur.

It does sound like the coals if, until now, you have been getting a successfull session. There have been vague reports about 'fake' 3-kings coals doing the rounds.

It would be usefull to see pics of the box and/or rolls of coals.

Also, with any Quick-Lighting coal, you must ensure that you have the coal fully lit and glowing red before putting it on the tobacco bowl.

Also, what kind of bowl & Tobacco are you using?

If you keep it clean then I'd say the lack of taste is perhaps low quality tobacco. Buy small amounts of several brands in flavors you might like & give them a shot. Happy smokin' Edited May 14, 2008 by Dirk Skene

hey man. yea like what JD asked what kind of tabacco are you using and bowl?... also how many coals are you useing when you are smoke'n?
