So Why Tangiers The Best?

Recommended Posts

Hey people,

After getting tangiers to work great and the phunnel bowl to work great with it and with other brands.

So I tried Tangiers orange soda and it tasted lovely, couldnt see how thick the smoke was but it seemed ok, but the buzz was more then others, which I dont like.

Anyway, so why is tangiers the best, something like starbuzz blue mist is lovely tasting and extremely thick too without alot of the hassle and buzz. Same with al fakher grape, currently my 2 fav flavours

So why do you think its the best and what flavour is your fave?

Ive got grape and melon mix acclimating and waiting for me smile.gif

its the best because it lasts 3 times longer than any other tobacco in a small phunnel. the flavor lasts just as long. it doesn't contain food coloring, its high quality tobacco. once you smoke tangiers often and get used to the buzz, you will no longer smoke anything else.

i have never smoked tangiers before but my melon blend came in today and is acclimating right now. the entire room smells like watermelon bubblelicious. if it smokes half as good as it smells it will be the best i have ever had. i also got the phunnel and mod

I think it's primarily because he makes each batch by hand and will never release a flavor until he deems it worthy of smoking, even if it means scrapping many, many man-hours of experiments and work because he just couldn't get the flavor to be the way he thought it should be

Romantic, but I question the validity of that statement.

Someone here said they tried Rasberry flavoured Tangiers and all they could taste was Tobacco. They used up the whole pack, but it all tasted like tobacco. So they decided it must be a bad batch and brought a new pack, it also didn't taste of rasberry. So they got in contact with Eric and told him about it, and he replied with something like: "well serves you right for buying it twice!".

Personally, I think its over-rated, its not bad! But definetely over-rated. You'd think it could cure cancer the way some people go on about it!

I've had some now. It's not bad. Something I never could figure was this idea of returning to a bowl of tobacco anyways? After a couple of hours of smoking something i'm done anyways.

Who wants to return to a bowl of tobacco the next day?

Tangiers is a decent tobacco. So is Nahkla or AF, AW, Fusion ect.

But each to there own smile.gif

Well I like tangiers well enough, but the thing is its a different type of tobacco. Very strong, but also very good. I am like you I dont much care for a buzz but after about 10 bowls of tangiers i dont typically feel it any more. Granted there are other brands of tobacco that i think have more obvious flavors (SB and AF) but to me tangiers is a higher quality of tobacco and has a more natural taste.

Quality.

Not the best in my book, YET, hence I have not tried but one of their flavors till today.

When I pile up a lil' more cash on the side, I will go ahead and purchase a decent amount of flavors and go all out.

that was actually my gf. it tasted lik raspberry but the flavor wasn't the best. eric made it, said it was the closet to raspberry he could make, he didn't like it himself, but a lot of other people did. he has his favorite flavors (kashmir peach, indigo flower are some) and flavors he personally doesn't like. raspberry is a subtle flavor...shrug. he even edited the flavor and made a second release of it. well the quality/price can't be beat if you ask me smile.gif

it's ridiculous how long the baccy lasts... i have no problem re-using the same bowl a couple of times, just take the charred top layer out and refill with fresh baccy and you've got yourself another perfect bowl.

+1 for that! Also I just think all the flavors that i've tried are just dead on great!

My routine: Pack a bowl, smoke it, next day pack another bowl, smoke it, next day go back to the first bowl, smoke it etc etc etc biggrin.gif Goes on for like 4-5 days biggrin.gif Then i pack up two more flavors and do the same thing biggrin.gif

Number 1 is flavor that does not get weak, good smoke, price, buzz and how long the tobacco lasts and you do not need a ton of coal to smoke it. It is also very forgiving. If you burn the tobacco just take off the coals and work through it by purging and getting the heat down in the bowl by taking a few pulls, throw the coals back on and no nasty taste.

I think most of us Tangiers 'fanboys' could write and essay on it!! Hookah.gif

We should write a book!! Or maybe like an E-book ... Who's with me?
Chapters could include (but not limited to) : History, Acclimating, Packing the shisha, Hole Placement, Coals, Smoking...

We could start a Tangiers Wiki if there is not already one. I am down for writing and pics and videos. I have a new video camera and I should make another video so it is better to see the bowl packing.

OMG I totally forgot about that.. Yes we should do this! Maybe we could get Eric involved, a little behind the scene action going..

(maybe we should make a new thread..)

#1 in longevity. In hours of smoking I havent gotten all the way through a bowl yet. That is value.

#2 Flavor Flavor Flavor. There is a ton of it in this tobacco. Very silky smooth flavor.

#3 It relaxes the hell out of you after a stressful day. A lot of times, I need the relaxation.
