mattarios2
i packed the phunnel real full about 1/8 of an inch higher than the phunnel and me and 2 other people smoked it for 2.5 hours and when we checked the bowl there was still tons of tobacco that was good. I searched to see how to pack it in a traditional bowl but found nothing.1.)Any one care to share how to pack it in a standard bowl?2.)You should acclimate the tangiers before every session correct? Thanks Edited May 17, 2008 by mattarios2
Canon
1) you can pack it normally now in a normal bowl, just watch your heat management2) no, i dont even acclimate tangiers anymore
mattarios2
When you say "now" you can pack it in a normal bowl are you refering to the fact that it is the new batch? And I had read you don't acclimate tangiers in one of your recent posts, is that because it is new the tangiers as well? B/c the melon i got smelt too strong then after acclimating it it smelt real nice.
Canon
tangiers has started using a new grooming method which makes the tobacco less picky about acclimation. you can pack it and smoke it with no problem. the hardest part about tangiers now is the heat management, you need to be on top of that when smoking tangiers. if you cant tell when its about to burn you may have some harshness. but you will learn to tell when its about to burn if you smoke tangiers long enough.also tangiers needs less heat then other tobaccos. boulderkid303
This isnt true canon. The cut is the EXACT SAME. I talked to the man himself about it.Still acclimate it for 3-6 hours (when it smells good try it out) and as for the normal bowl....Eric told me to back it tight around the edges on a normal clay or mod head, and make it a tad bit looser in the middle. Still alot of big holes, try that out and let us know how it goes.
Canon
i never said it was the cut (well i did until eric clarified it) its the grooming. please read my post before trying to prove me wrong.. and as far as packing it normally, ive done it and smoked with stuie with no problems
Scoop
everything about it is the same...lol. i asked when i went to pick it up
mdl
Canon is correct. Different grooming methods have been used to efficiently streamline the grooming process to keep up with demand along with remove as many stems as possible. Grooming has been tweaked and therefore is different from before. Also as Scoop said, nothing has changed in the production process of the tobacco.
