Tangiers...

Recommended Posts

For me it comes down to the great flavor, nice smoke, and good buzz. No other brand comes closer to the flavor it is trying to replicate. The only brand that gets close is Nakhla, but that's another story. Between Tangiers and Nakhla I would choose Nakhla because of the price - taste ratio. But I still love Tangiers and if a shop around here carried it, I would gladly buy it every chance I got.

Tangiers is the only thing I smoke, well a little Layalina here and there. If you are not getting a solid flavor or just think its bad tobacco because your session is bad, then its you. When you figure out or have someone pack a bowl properly for you with proper heat management you will enjoy every second of it. We have first time hookah smokers that love Tangiers. Sure the buzz can be a bit much for some people but nobody has ever said anything bad about the flavor.

Sure its my opinion and my friends views. But we have almost tried every brand on the market. Just have not tried the new brands that just came out in the past year.

Eh, well, I tried some in my Mya bowl today and the nectarine is doing a little better. I had to break up 1 Japanese style coal into like 4 pieces to keep the heat right. I'm pretty sure my phunnel just isn't deep enough, as the mya bowl is over 2x deeper and seems to be working out a lot better on the first bowl I've packed in it.

I think part of the problem with Tangiers is that there are so many methods to pack it. I rarely see the "experts" using the same packing methods. Most don't even coincide with those recommended by the creator of the shisha itself. Every so often someone will come out with a tutorial that is inherently different from those posted before it. It's easy to say that it's 100% user error, but everything considered is it any wonder that a lot of people have trouble with it?

With most other brands you can usually just pack them to just below the rim of just about any bowl with whatever hole pattern you prefer and they'll smoke and taste fine as long as you keep an appropriate amount of heat on them, but with Tangiers that just isn't the case. Edited by Ralleac

I had a first time Hookah smoker yesterday and I had Tangiers Brambleberry going. He was just puffin' away and saying man this is tasty and look at these huge clouds I can get without coughing or being harsh. I could hardly get the hose away from him...lol Tangiers hits it dead on for flavor and smoke and buzz. Everything else to me just not appealing anymore.
