By cost? It also differs for every brand. And sometimes every flavor.
leadpipecinch21
i'm going to go on a limb and say that 95% of what's in a tub, by mass, is tobacco.
ZenSilk
Depends... There will be more or less glycerine/honey/molasses compared to tobacco with each different brand. Take for example Starbuzz and HookahHookah. Starbuzz is very gooey and is doused in glycerine, and is very stemmy. HookahHookah is much drier, and has no stems, so therefore contains more tobacco per gram. So you don't get 50 - 250 grams of pure tobacco, because that weight includes the glycerine. It would honestly be pretty impossible to get an exact figure for really any brand, maybe more along the lines of a rough estimate or average. stryet
it really pisses me off that some brands are more liquid than tobacco by weight. layalina comes to mind, but then again, i like the flavor, and it's cheap.

AKammenzind
When I make shisha, a lot of the mass or weight is actually honey/glycerine, but a lot of the volume is tobacco. A 1 Kilo package of honey will be a lot smaller than a 1 Kilo package of loose tobacco, it's just a lot more dense. The same holds true for most of the moister Shisha, like Layalina, King Moassel, etc. Other shisha that's dry like Nakhla has less liquid mass in it, and so is probably more tobacco volume and less glycerine/honey/molasses. Also consider that the glycerine is what gives clouds (take a teaspoon of glycerine, and put a coal on it and you'll know what I mean... just make sure you're outside), the tobacco seems to be what gives buzz, holds flavor, and acts as the shisha's base, and the honey/molasses which acts almost like a binder to get the shisha a little bit clumpy, and adds sweetness.
