So I Tried Tangiers In The Normal Bowl Again

i tried the sprinkle style and got it smoking a bit better, still have the tingle in the throat, used alot of big holes. Maybe it needs a little more baccy?

It is right at the top but not touching the foil.

Smoke is decent but not clouds.

i think i should try a little more tobacco but not sure

well ive never smoked it out of a normal bowl, but with a funnel bowl your supposed to pack it passed the rim then push it down with the foil. i'm pretty sure if you fill it up you'll get alot more smoke, but then again ive never tried from a standerd bowl....which bowl are you using mby the way? egyption, mod, mya?

im using a mod bowl, the wide bowl. When i get it to not tingle and taste good i dont get alot of smoke. and when i get alot of smoke i get a tingle and bad flavor.

I've already told you how i do it in one of the OTHER 2 threads on this subject you've posted. Lots of other people have told you how they do it in one of the other 2 threads you've started on this subject.

Either keep practicing or you may want to just get a phunnel and get it over with. Bu kindly spare us a 4th thread on this matter.

sorry, i've been trying what you guys have told me, and justt continue to fail, it won't happen again, just so frustrating.

edit: i have a phunnel but its a medium which equals wasted tobacco, once my small comes in i hopefully will be allset. Edited by mattarios2

I really have to emphasize this point. IT'S FUCKING OK IF ANY SHISHA TOUCHES THE FOIL!!!!! Jesus christ. There's this conception that shisha touching the foil is bad. IT'S NOT! It's ok, especially Tangiers. Put however much density you want, just pack A LOT over the rim and when you drape the foil over it, press with your palm a bit and leave a small divot. Then pull the foil tight and poke big holes. Only a little bit of heat is required. TRY MY STYLE. I smoke Tangiers almost exclusively from regular bowls.

You can reuse the tobacco that is not burnt. I do it all the time and salvage at least half the tobacco in my medium bowl.

I just packed a regular bowl of Tangiers Tobacco using the following method;

1. Use the bowl as a scoop.
2. Pack the tobacco to the brim.
3. Apply the foil and press down the tobacco. The foil will touch the tobacco and that's perfectly fine.
4. Punch toothpick sized holes in 3 concentric circles and all the way to the bottom of the bowl. Use the full thickness of the toothpick, not just the tip.
5. Punch a center hole all the way through the bottom and make a little larger for airflow.
6. Use 3 Japanese quicklights.

Smokes perfectly fine (a little harder of a pull than a funnel bowl). The smoke is ~75% thickness of what a funnel bowl will produce. You will also use about 1/3 of the amount of tobacco a medium funnel bowl will need. I'm not sure how long the session will last as I need to sleep but next time I will add the info.

Whenever I try to do that the holes seem to get clogged, and I have no airflow though, thats my problem when packing it heavy.

Seems good to me. I think im just gonna wait for my small phunnel and use that. I have had no issues with the phunnel and tangiers.

Yeah, I'll get it, I either just get good flavor and little smoke, or tons of smoke and a tingle in the throat. I try to use 2 cube size pieces of exoticas. I'll get it, I'll get it. I've only had like 3 or 4 cracks at it with a normal bowl, so a few more and I should be good, unless the small phunnel comes in soon.

Packing it just like any other tobacco hasn't really worked for me under most circumstances due to the harsh and pepper-like taste I usually get with even the wispiest smoke. I can stir it before I smoke it, I can pack the bowl in the recommended ways, I can use a recommended hole pattern, and I can toss on less than half a jap silver and I still wind up choking trying to smoke it. Tangiers is frustrating. mellow.gif

I'm going to put out what I have left for more acclimating, though. Another video couldn't hurt.

if you've acclimated it for a decent time before, and the weather hasn't really changed much, you are probably accimating the suff into dry oblivion if you leave it out too much. If you can really smell it, you can really taste it. That's all there is to it.

Thanks for the sympathy heh, yeah it won't work for me in the mod bowl, will be getting my small phunnel tomorrow and things should be good to go.

I tried Tangiers for the first time the other night. The smoke was fantastic, the flavor was kind of subtle but there, and it didn't tickle my throat at all.

I'm pretty sure I set everything up right, but the only problem is there was NO BUZZ!?!?!

All the scary shit I've read about Tangiers kicking people's asses, I was expecting it to get me.

Ya'll think I did something wrong? Too much acclimation? Smoking 2-3 bowls a day for a month got me a tolerance built up?

Hah, yeah, I've only acclimated the nectarine twice because the scent keeps going back to bbq sauce. The temperature and humidity around here have been all over the place, lately.
