disassembling a mya stem

Recommended Posts

well , today i busted out my cleaning rod and everything to sit down
and FULLY clean my hookah.  there's nothing like smoking out of a
freshly cleaned like-new hookah.  unfortunately i can't unscrew
the stem pieces.  anyone that has a mya stem may be familiar with
the design:

{> === | === <}   okay, that's a horrible representation.  when taken apart it becomes

{> ===   |
--------- ===   <} , where
the long piece threads through the 2 shorter pieces and the center
ring, and then screws into the two end pieces.  my problem is, i
can't get the end pieces to unscrew.  i've had this problem
before, but eventually it has always come loose with a lot of hand
cramping and tendon damage ;)

anyone got any ideas how how to get these unscrewed?  i've already
tried running hot water on one end, and it didn't do anything, but who
knows...

Any time a forum member has mentioned a problem with a Mya, no matter where they have gotten it, This has been their response. They don't talk much otherwise, but they are there for Mya owners.
To be fair, the folks at Socialsmoke as well as several other sites also participate in the forum and have stepped in to help people with problems. Good to see them all supporting the Hookah community.

Since Mya is reading this, just a suggestion here cause I feel like there are alot of knock off MYA's on the market, would it be possible for you to provide your licensed dealers with some kind of unique picture or stamp to confirm that it is ni fact a MYA hookah.

Mahmoud,
I knew that you stamped the pieces but that wasnt the problem I was reefering too, I meant specifically when you are buying over the internet and cant inspect the item that closely.  It is especially important for people like me who, living in Canada, dont have as wide selection as some Americans do.  It would be nice if websites that you had deals with could post some small unqiue picture or logo to certify their hookahs as MYA ones.  It would encourage me alot more to buy from them.

Maybe you could publish a list of authorized Mya dealers?I was lucky enough to find a local shop that sold me a small blue and gold Mya for my first hookah, it is still my favorite of the 4 I have now. My only complaint is that the threads are different from my others, and I can't put  my ice chiller on it.
