Is there more than one way to pronounce MZ because my father said you pronounce it Mash-dee-zi-dan

the mash is supposed to sound like mash with a little bit of a zzzz sound at the end. but not like the word mash like it mashed potatoes. Ah i don't know i give up on trying to explain how it sounds lol. He said when he lived in Lebanon that is how everyone pronounced it, but like you said egyptians pronounce the g a bit differently.

mattarios you are absolutely right, I am Lebanese and Egyptians do pronounce the g differently. Speaking in Lebanese dialect mattarios I think you have the pronounciation down I know what you mean by mash being pronounced with a z sound, your pronounciation is right.

Narghile? Quran Quebec, El-Quds,Iraq! Blame the British for those spellings. In Arabic which is such a rich language, its not so easy to spell let alone pronounce words with letter than you don't have. Why is "Palestine" not called Palestine by Arabs but "Falestin" pronounced Fah-leh-steen as in Bruce? Becuz Arabs if not brought up in english speaking countries simply CANNOT pronounce "P". Balestine.So its an "F".
Nar-gee-lah is narghile. Bethleham I live in a village near there is pronounced Bayt Lakham but not Lakham like Birmingham ,Tottenham United, but more Lahchem down the throat in the throat. I dont, its just that my parents watch a lot of egyptian movies and I am more than familiar with the Egyptian accent. I could easily use their accent it if I wanted to as well.

i just got a new rotator and i was wondering what the writing on the ashtray and the label attached to the hose says.
the pictures aren`t very clear because i had to take them with a shitty pocket pocket camera.

second word on tray is darouiche, the last name of a famous palestinian poet who died recently

i could be wrong.

that could also be the name of the manufacturer - 3amrou darouiche.
and the next line on the tray, machoutal, could be the name of the pipe, like model...?

thats right, i does have that fur like material on it. and thanks for the heads up, i already thought it was a bit fishy, just like mya advertising their hoses as washable.


edit: codename, thanks for the response. it could very well be that al joker is the brand name, i`ve seen more hookahs named that way.

As far as just small discussion how do you say how much (as in price) and thank you. And when you are asking about shisha tobacco I know there are many terms but which one is most common. I get my tobacco at a middle eastern super market so its hard to sometimes even say what i want. When i say tobacco they just usually refer me to cigarettes.
