kajon
Hey guys, I usually smoke El hennawy which i know is not the best quality, but I got a fantasia sample from Neil and i cant seem to get the flavor from it. I used 1 (3k) coal and when i wasnt tasting much i switched to 2. After 15 min or so it starts to get harsh. I packed it to the rim, maybe a little bit underpacked so i was thinking it might be that. How do you get the best flavor out of your shisha?

How do you get the best flavor out of your shisha? You need alot of heat with fantasia, and normal sized holes everywhere, and don't pack to the rim with fantasia, In my findings it smokes better when its a bit lower than up to the edge of the rim. neu318
I usually pack it loosely and not to the rim. I use medium holes scattered around. and I use 2 3k coals one on top of the other. You have to wait till the coal is ashy all over (no black) and I always get great smoke from fantasia no harshness.

How do you get the best flavor out of your shisha?Sounds like a normal heat management issue to me. Try to keep moving the coals around, and keep them around the edges of the bowl. If it starts to feel like it's getting a little harsh, take one off for a minute, then put it back on, and keep dancing them coals round the edge of the bowl. At least that's what I do with all coals I've used (3k, swiftlights, golden, japs, naturals, fingers, etc.) and it's never failed me.

Every 15-20 minutes I'll usually ash and flip the coals as well. If the shisha still burns, it might be best to use less heat so try 1 1/2 coals.
