vaypourus
Just got my new green KM Tri-Metal from George over @ Hookah Company. He was a pleasure to deal with again. Here are some pictures! The boxing sitting on my front doorstep! *squee!*The top of the box was beat, which put me into a small panic.luckily there was ample padding and packaging, so all survived! The tray with raised Arabic letters and the "khalil mamoon" name. Very cool. The glass base with opaque green paint and lots of gold stripes and leaves! Also has the KM name. The bottom of the vase has a cool cross-hatch pattern stamped into the glass. Never seen that on another vase.
vaypourus
Three different shiny metals! It weighs probably twice that of my Egyptian 2 hose.Etching into the copper. The top tray holder. Also etched with designs.Solid brass with clean welds. This really is an exquisite piece of craftsmanship. All brass downstem.Standard KM leather string wrapped hose. Not bad, hits well.Rainbow colored tip.
vaypourus
Also came with a small Egyptian clay bowl. Always nice to have an extra.Included were a set of tongs, a bunch of plastic mouth tips, brushes (not pictured) and a metal screen. Here she is assembled and ready to go. I really like the green color. She smokes like a champ...draws like a pencil! Packed with AL Fakher plum and 2 33mm Pharohs Elite quicklites in my unglazed bowl. mmmmm. vaypourus
George also got me one of these I might get a few more from him...definitley a cool hose.Overall, I am extremely impressed. The only downsides to this that I can see is that the tray isn't snap on; it just sits on the tray holder. Additionally, the gasket is really loose and leaks. I need to wrap some tape under the grommet, and it will be just fine.
NickReppinThe909
call george and tell him it leaks he sent me 8 gaskets for mine because he forgot the base to stem gasket

Click
Hey, how is the the stem fitting into the vase for you? I took off the gasket and put some masking tape around the base so it would fit more snug. And does your BB ball sit on top like this? (picture)Edit: that the ball I stole from my MYA. The BB i used from my BB gun sits down inside the valve. Edited May 23, 2008 by click
NickReppinThe909
for easier purge i ALWAYS switch my bb out to an .28g killer beez bb (haha had to throw my airsoft team sponsor name in somewhere)
Click
Well besides the weight of the BB, I'm mainly wondering about the size. Cause one sits on top of the purge valve and the other inside it. I don't know which way it's supposed to be cause my tri-metal came today without it.
vaypourus
That BB in the picture should do the job...it looks a little bigger than mine, but I think it should do the trick.
NickReppinThe909
it should sit inside the hole about half way so you get a better seal on the purge valve

I have a pack of 4.5 mm BB's for my BB gun but the one I have shown in the picture is from my MYA and is much bigger. The 4.5mm bb since down in the valve but it almost looks too small like it's gonna get sucked inside, lol.

Click
Okay cool. So I'm not going to use these 4.5mm. Scared they are too small. I'll use the big MYA one for now and find a 6mm at a hardware store.Thanks.

MechAnt
The cross hatch pattern thing on the bottom of the glass is a result of the manufacturing process to shape the glass into the base. MZ has a similar patter because it is also handmade in the same factory as KM.MZ=KM EDIT: BTW, pipe looks excellent! derogatory
I really wish the vases were hand blown instead, they'd be 10X cooler.
MechAnt
They are supposedly hand-blown. To make a flat surface with blowing glass, you need to press it up against something to create it.
