stuyvo
well I took my hookah appart today for a clean after a short smoke and the downstem is rusted on the end, is it a health risk to continue using it? the whole top half of the hookah is useless if so as its all welded together if it is a health risk i'l head down to the local shops and there is what looks to be a maya QT there, i know theres a "hookah king" knockoff that looks just alike: how would I tell them appart? if it comes in a maya box does that mean its a genuine maya or do they fake those too? Exile
I'm gonna hafta say yes, if you continue to use the rusted stem, scabies will ensue. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scabies

Winter
If you want, you can try using some kind of rust remover such as Brillo or Rust Stain Magic. I'm not an expert on rust and rust removal, but maybe try going down to your local hardware / Home Depot store and ask them how to remove rust from your kind of metal. stuyvo
its in the bin, i had a look at the "mya" and it seemed extremely flimsy especialy for the price ($80AUD) I ended up with an "eclair" hookah which is probably a piece of crap but from the looking over I gave it the seals are ALOT better and the glass was alot thicker. ilikemyusername
if it's a real mya, its going to unscrew all over the place, these things come apart in crazy ways. aldo almost microscopically on the stem its going to have the MYA logo, third its going to be heavier than it looks, the tray is going to have the MYA logo and its going to be "thick" feeling, no flimsy crap there. if its a knock off that has all of the mya features, then its a knockoff thats just as good as the real thing.
