bowls are all about preferences...some people like shallow wide bowls, some like smaller deeper bowls, some like phunnels(which will be recommended to you in 3...2...1...), it just a matter of preference. if you can pack a good bowl in what you have, then there's no need to change unless you want to...

for AF i recommend a KM egyptian bowl for solo sessions or a phunnel if your gonna have a few friends around

The SS bowl is good, and so is the glass Phunnel from MN.

Like mentioned, it's pretty much personal preference. However, there are some differences in performance of bowls. Take for example, a standard Egyptian bowl vs. the Social Smoke Hemi. The Hemi will hit much easier than the egyptian. There are differences but nothing really siginificant.

Uhh... actually I strongly disagree with the above posters. The bowl makes a huge difference.

A ceramic bowl gets very hot, for example. A clay bowl is better for heat maintenance. A phunnel bowl drastically affects flavor and smoke. A pyrex bowl manages heat exceptionally well. A shallow bowl is easier to smoke than a deep bowl. A wide bowl holds more tobbaco, etc.
