willbb123
So I have a 3-Hose Egyptian Nile hookah for a while now and now want to buy a new one. I've been looking online and like the Mya's. Now that I'm on summer break from college I've been putting in extra hours at work and I am looking at getting a new higher paying job, so the $150 price tag isn't that big of a deal. I've been with my girlfriend for three years now and am planning on moving in with her when our current lease is up. The problem is she wants me to save for a puppy. She said that she is getting kind of sick of hookahing, and I think it is just because we havent tried any new flavors latey and we are getting sick of the favors. We like romman mint, romman gum, romman cinamon, etc.So my questions are, What do you think I should do, What kind of hookah would you reccomend (would like to stay with a 3-hose). What are good flavors/brands that we should try.ThanksWill
MechAnt
Only Romman?!?!?!??! You are depriving yourself of the goodness of hookah!Look at the brands Al Fakher, Fusion, Starbuzz, and Layalina for some excellent flavors.
MrMoodz
Does she expect you to quit hookah or cut back on hookah? She wants you to save for a puppy BUT what do you want to do? It sounds like you need to talk more with her and make sure you both understand each other's expectations. Moving in together is like getting married.I agree with Mechant. You need to explore the many other brands of hookah tobacco. Take a look in the reviews section and you will see.

Ralleac
I would not recommend buying a pet with someone you aren't married to. If she wants a puppy she should get it herself unless it is a gift from you.If you definitely need a 3-hose I'd go for a Mya. There are plenty of models to choose from depending on what you prefer. I prefer 1-hose hookahs myself. For brands, I'd try Layalina, Fantasia, Fusion, Al Fakher, and Nakhla. If you have the money to blow, Starbuzz is also decent. With the Larger models you can go from 1 - 4 hoses at your whim.I own an Obelisk it is the most amazing thing ever!!!As a big Romman fan myself, do try other stuff. Try Prunes and Good Times they rock!Stay away from hebal, and Layalina (too much dye and moisture and flavor dies to quickly) Same goes for Havana.Fantasia and Potion are really good, but again red dye but the flavor really lasts. Fantasia Margarita and Pink Lemonade are great. Potion Kiwi Strawberry & Blackberry are great.Tangiers is tricky but it is good. Until your use to it shy away from Kashmir. Horchata, Brambleberry and Summer Sostice are incredible!Starbuzz is pretty good, but red dye again. Wild Berry and Raspberry are all that I tried but they are good. This is just one guys opinion. mdl
Maybe it's just me but it seems like this choice shouldn't be your concern right now. I agree with Ralleac and suggest not moving in together and living together whilst unmarried. If she wants a puppy she should save for a puppy, not you. If you want a hookah you should save for a hookah.

So you might be struggling telling her you dont' want a puppy or don't want to pay for a puppy. But think about it this way. You guys are getting ready to 'have' a kid and you have an opportunity for input, to not have the kid, not to have that responsiblity. Stand up for it. I mean I like animals and everything. But I would much rather have a new hookah as my "baby" much less maintence. You give in on the puppy, give it a little while and it wont' be enough to keep her maternal instincts happy any more, then she's gonna want the real thing....think about it. Awesome. lol totally agree Mush.I agree get the puppy from a shelter, I got mine from there and yes you need some cash for all the shots etc. but a) it's tons cheaper than a pure breed dog, and why wouldn't you do it?turns out mine was full blooded border collie anyway Edited May 28, 2008 by liquidglass

Tati
Dogs are great, but taking care of a dog is a lot harder than taking care of a hookah. You should get a plant that both of you take care of together, then see how long it survives, if its longer than a year, then get a puppy. In the meantime, get a hookah. ilikemyusername
i work in a kennel at the humane society. nothing will cure you of wanting a puppy faster than working there! we have 19 right now. if you don't both want a puppy you need to sit down with her and discuss your problems with it, poop, pee, are you planing on rating? if not you'll end up with holes in your walls from chewing, they can also eat electrical sockets and get electrocuted and set your house on fire! don't laugh , it happens. liquidglass
the logic behind all this is:A puppy: living breathing thing, that you have to take care of, costs tons of money and you can get in trouble if you dont' take care of itA hookah: knows how to sit, stay, and smoke, right out the store. If you don't play with it for awhile no one will call peta. Tell her to save up for the puppy if she wants it so bad, it's not something you want. That's like asking her to save up for your hookah and supplies, which i'm sure she's not willing to do.
ahwahoo2006
Hookahs don't poop on the rug and eat your shoes. No one is allergic to hookahs (ok, well maybe to the smoke). Seriously, though, getting a pet is just about as big a commitment as having a kid.
