Bottom Of The Bowl Shisha

Recommended Posts

I currently am using a mod bowl, not very deep, but very wide, and im using either two smaller coals or one large coal, and ill smoke, and sometimes i light another coal and put that on top. When i start on my second coal, the smoke gets very harsh, because im heating up the used shisha, so it will be terrible.

however, when i take the foil off, there is a fairly decent amount of perfectly good shisha sittin there under all the blackened shisha. so am i doing something wrong? or should i pull it out and put it in another bowl for next time.. Edited by nat3r

Try starting off with one or two small pieces of coal so warm up the shisha. You don't want to just set all your coal on there leave it. Put one coal, and a minute later put a second, and so on until it's good.

Try more smaller holes.

Throw some more coals on there, that's what I do.

when i do that the smoke gets harsh, and this is after i use my first coal or two (depending on the size)

Let me rephrase. I use a Hemi Bowl a lot. Sucker is pretty deep. I will use 3 Cocos then when they are essential gone I take them off and add 3 new ones to get the last of the shisha cooked down in the bowl. If it get's harsh I either throw on another layer of foil or just take a tooth pick stick in a few of the holes and kind of tent the foil from the center.

Well personally when I see blackened shisha on top just means it was 'burned' so i take my tongs, mix it all up while it's on the hookah, cover it and get back to smoking.

Remember after the bowl is all nice warmed up with the first round of coals or something then you don't need quite as much coal so if you start off with 3 halves, then two halves should finish it off later depending on how hot the bowl is already.

But blackened shisha could mean your air flow isn't working too well b/c it's like a 2nd layer of foil almost, so mix it up.

You can remove the blackened/burnt shisha, mix up the remaining flavor and put a new piece of foil over it and start smoking again. This will save you shisha and it gets rid of the burnt shisha that causes the smoke to be harsh.

i used to remove my foil, flip the shisha in the head, refoil it and continue smoking. but i've improved my packing techniques and heat management and i dont worry about the stuff on the bottom. usually theres nothing left but a black mini rice cake looking thing, with no juices anywhere.
