vaypourus
Just curious if we have any metal fans in here.Lately I've busted out In Flames Colony and think it might be my fav. album of all. Also been listening to Nightrage as of late, and my fav. Alaskan band 36 Crazy Fists. While I am generally into the melodic metal...I have really been into the newer As I Lay Dying cd. I know...you metal purists are gonna be pissed, so sue me. I dig the metalcore too. I'm not a huge fan of metal blade records, but this cd has really done it for me over the past few days. Big Boss
Yeah, I'm a pretty big metal head, although I do listen to other genres of music. I really like gothic metal, bands like: Type O Negative, My Dying Bride, Lucian Scott, Forest of Shadows. I'm also a big fan of your standard, old school metal: Metallica, Slayer, ect, ect, ect... I saw some pretty kick ass metal bands at Ozzfest back in August, bands like In This Moment, Nile, Chtonic or however the fuck you spell their name, and Ankla. The lamest band there was Daath. Those guys are like a bunch of gothic clowns with down syndrome. Hope I didnt offend anybody with that statement...

Winter
Yes. I think well over 90% of my IPod is metal. Haha I was actually listening to Colony during my car ride to lunch today. As of late, I have been listening to some of my old favorites such as Mercenary, Sonata Arctica, Kiuas, Kalmah, Insomnium, Evergrey, Scar Symmetry and Symphony X. NUBBS
Im a metal head slasher all the way. I like everything form Iron Maiden to Skinless. I am very into the hardcore/metalcore scene right now. Toxik916
I'm really starting to enjoy metal lately. I ususally listen to alternative like breaking benjamin and three days grace, but I went to the Taste of Chaos tour this year and now I really like Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu, and Avenged Sevenfold. vaypourus
Oh man...the old Static X was the shit. Wisconson Death Trip is one of my top 20 albums as well. Static X used to hit Rochester here 3 times a tour, so I've seen them 5 times now. Always a lot of fun to see. I'm not a huge fan of thier newer stuff....kinda like Deftones. Old stuff was great, the new stuff.....not so much.Song of the moment: Truth Within by Bloodjinn. If you don't know these guys, check them out. Gyromantis
I have been listening to metal for aboout 6-7 years now. Metallica was the band that got me into it and i have evolved my taste from there. When Metallica release St. Anger i finally figured that the band which got me into guitar playing had sold out and that they would never release a new album which would one of their old releases >91 of the throne. I have a broad taste in music, but the genre which have been my favorite for the last 3-4 years has been black metal. Some bands which is worth to check out is:WalknutNae'blis (sample)WindirPrimordial also release imo the best metal album in 2007, The Nameless Dead, which should be a mandatory listen! http://www.myspace.com/fallentoruin Edited May 31, 2008 by Gyromantis
