Crystalate Matter In Fantasia Shisha?

Recommended Posts

anyone else have an experience like this?

i'm smoking fantasia margarita, and i just sucked a thin, clear shard of something through my hose. i'm hesitant to call it glass because of all the red flags that that would raise, but it was similarly textured. it was very small and very thin and clear, and broke apart in my fingers. could this have been from my base somehow? or maybe the hose? (i'm smoking out of the bambino) or a byproduct of glycerine or something? any ideas? just want to make sure i'm not inhaling anything dangerous.

I vaguely recall hearing something about bits of glue sometimes found inside the downstems in Myas, that had hardened into long thin pieces but were quite brittle... could be something to do with that..

It could have easily been glue. I hadn't even considered that. It was crystal clear though, and triangular. Kind of reminds me of the first time I found tartrate crystals in my wine and thought I was drinking glass. I'm sure it's nothing.

It might be in the shisha I love fantasia but sometimes when I pack a bowl of it it feels like ive been scratched or poked with something sharp. I just figured it was a stem or something.

what type of hookah? Mya's sometime have clear pieces of plastic that come out of the stems. I've found a few of them.

Yeah check the downpipe if you see a plastic clear piece it is glue, I just loosened mine by scrubbing the downstem repetitively till it got loose then I pulled it out with pliers. Heard it was to help make a bond where the pipe is connected, and will eventually come off according to a MYA rep I spoke with.

Happened to me once as well.

Coincidentally, I was smoking fantasia.. but I don't see how you could suck fantasia all the way down through the stem, and back up through the hose?? How is that possible?

Were you smoking out of a MYA hookah at the time?

well I've smoke fantasia plenty of times and never had this problem. So sounds alot like the hookah. Glazing from the bowl dripping down the stem (depends on the bowl, could have a clear coat over it) or something in the stem. I would scrub the hose port, hose, stem, and everything. Then put a diffuser on the bottom wink.gif just in case.

lol, physically speaking this cannot be in the tobacco. in theory there would need to be something in the tobacco that when heated up and cooled formed grass shards that can travel out of the water and up into the hose port.

I must agree its likely something from the hose. The pieces of "glue" or whatever it is has always shown up when I was cleaning out my stem. No way it can go from the tobacco and through your hose intact. Proably bigger than the holes in the bowl for one thing....

This always happens when I use the MYA hoses. I'm almost 100% sure its the glue or dried up finish they use to coat the wood. I wouldn't be too worried. It is very unpleasant though to suck it in while your smoking.

There is no possible way for anything to start at the bowl and end up at you mouth unless it is a gas or vapor (i.e. smoke). As previously stated it would need to pass through the bowl's holes, down the stem, into the water, into the air above the water, be sucked up by the hose without any water being sucked up too, and then reach your mouth.
