frost91
I read somewhere that putting milk inside the base makes the smoke thicker...can anyone confirm?

Scoop
milk bubbles. it will bubble up even pretty big vases and could enter your hose (which is really gross once it settles, especially if its not washable). its also a plan in the ass to clean.i get thick clouds without milk so i dont bother with anything but water anymore

Big Boss
Milk bubbled up and got in my cobra hoses and ruined them... I'm still bitter about that
Codename067
As mentioned, it will bubble up. Never tried it, and never will.
liquidglass
yes, milk will bubble, but if you throw in a tablespoon or two (1/4th of a shot or so) you should be good then if it's still not bubbling up too high you can add more. It can really add to the smoothness of a smoke and clouds.Just watch it though, when your cold water/ice cubes and all heat up then the milk (could) go sour. It's only happened once but it just made it taste extra sweet, even so, all you have to do is dump the base, run some water through it, fill it up again, and goI advise trying it sometime for mellow flavors: melon, orange, vanilla, blueberry, etc etcjust remember after one bowl you probably need to change it
ryno
I used milk before and as others said, it bubbles up and can ruin hoses. Using a small amount of milk mixed with water will work. I'ce also added powdered coffee creamer and that had the same effect, and added a nice creamy taste

I hesitate to put anything into my hookah that has a spoilage factor, because what happens if during cleaning you miss just one tiny little bit? Rotting whatever in my hookah? I don't think so. Water works just fine.'Rani

Then again the "beater" hookah is tiny, so a large vase with small amount of milk could work, but you've been warned!!Next guess would be experimenting with coconut milk, I doubt it will bubble as much as regular milk. mathuv
milk = failcoconut milk = wini put some milk in my vase and it ruined my hose because it bubbled up so that hose tasted like ass. I'm pretty sure it made the hookah taste weird too, took a couple of washes to get the weird taste out and there's still a hint of it.
Johnny_D
Well done Math Yes. Use coconut milk. I still think it's a pointless gimik, but if you gotta do it go with the coconuts not Cow.JD

ilikemyusername
i've done it. i didn't notice anything special about it, and i wont do it again.think about it for a second... milk in the base to make your smoke thicker.i don't think its physically possible.think about it.just think about it.if you want thicker smoke go with a better shisha, learn how to pack your bowls and get the right ammount of heat on it.look at the design of your hookah, how is milk going to have an impact on thickness?think about it.just think about it. domas
Sometimes I use milk instead of water, but only for banana flavour. I noticed that taste is better, but nothing special with clouds. My hoses are still working fine :]
fiddlercrabus
Yeah, I just can't imagine using anything that could add a rotting flavor to future hookah sessions...
melanko
I sometimes just use a non-dairy creamer in certain flavors. Usually if it's a flavor that would be good as an ice cream, it'll probably be fine with some of the white stuff. The moo juice Edited July 22, 2008 by melanko
