Another One Down - Need New Hookah

Recommended Posts

2nd Hookah to go buhbye.
1st one was made from mild steel apparently ? and rusted through.
2nd one was coming apart (thin metal) the sticking out hose connector was getting lose and now the pipe on the inside broke in 2 when i tried to unscrew the bottom pipe for cleaning, oh well.
now i'm shopping for a new hookah, i want a large, SOLID hookah, stainless steel, and carefully welded, and 2+ hoses, ability to take it apart would be nice too.
Suggestions? Suggestions?
I actually want a rotator but from posts around here it doesn't seem that rotators are that good.

Have you seen the Stargate? I just got mine and its great, VERY sturdy and everything unscrews into pieces.
Search for Stargate or Taqseem on the forum for some pictures of it disassembled. Taqseem.com is the site, but they're sold on ebay and I'm at work so I can't get to ebay to get a link because it is blocked (funny I can spend all day on the hookah forum but I can't get on ebay or gmail).

I was actualy just reading about the stargate. few things concern me

acrylic base threads wear out?
the hoses are the exact ones I had on my 2nd hookah - hose sucks! the metal mouthpiece easily breaks off and the hose itself cracks. I guess if I buy a stargate, i'd need to buy 2 separate hoses - suggestions on those?

The acrylic also worries me...but I haven't had a problem yet.
I'm using two black leather hoses from Mya Saray: http://www.myasaray.com/store/index.asp?DE...EPARTMENT_ID=36 (on like page 2/3). I think they're the best hoses available, especially at that price. They last forever.

sounds like your using acrylics- am i right? or modern hookahs- try a
classic egyptian/syrian or lebanese hookah ive got three theyve all
withstood long years of hookahing (one of them being my older brothers-
that is still %100 functional). They may be a little harder to clean
than plastic vases and screwable stems but theyre worth it in the long
run and are jsut plain classier.

I have a stargate, I can tell you a few things about that.  He is selling a 32" version now.  Also, I havent had any problem with my hose.  The idea of the acrylic threads wearing out was the friction from the metal threads on the body of the hookah and the acrylic on the vase.  I saw a bit of dust the first time i used them so i rubbed vaseline on the threads and now its noticeably smoother.Plus he gives a pretty good price to forum members.

I'm a big fan of Nour Syrian pipes. Solid, pieces threaded and screwed together and then soldered/brazed, solid brass construction, nickel plated "silver" colored ones available. I have owned, bought and sold over a hundred of them and I have had 2 break...one recently that I've been badly abusing for over a year and one that just broke a solder. Since the pieces are threaded together, they are both still functional. Avoid the Chinese Nour ! The screw together ones that come in all sorts of twisty shapes and animals...they are pure crap.

Crappy Chinese Nour:

Well, the jars are crap...the shanks are OK, but its a hassle.
Good Nour:

They're listing them as Egyptian, but I do not believe this is correct...I'll have to check. I guess it doesn't really matter where they come from, does it?

Its a set of hookahs and a jigsaw puzzle! Don't ask me why they have their Jpegs arranged this way.
