justus
I have so many questions!!!We bought some lemon coal (I think Al Fakher). My husband and I are trying to figure it out. We would love to have some ideas! We also bought some Al Fakher Golden Grape. I love the taste of it, but we had a very hard time with the coal. Please, your thoughts would be very helpful! justus
I guess what I want to know is how to get it to work right. Do you have to shape it before you use it? we are having a hard time with the size, and shape. We have been told it is better to use this then the "three kings" that we have been using. We are in the middle of trying to smoke right now, but having some problems. We used the BBQ to light it. It just doesn't seem to be staying hot.
chromecarz00
Mods please move to general discussion.Welcome to the forum. Basically just cut it into the general size about a quarter. Doesnt have to be any shape. Use 2-3 on a bowl. Make sure its red hot. Keep flipping them in the session every few minutes. They should last. SimplexCoda
Ya you gotta make sure that it is completely lit and glowing red all over before you use them. YOu can use a torch or a stove top to light.
liquidglass
use a hammer and a flat head screw driver or your bare hands to break the big pieces up to useable sizes.
dyzel
fastest way to light them (personal experience) is to use an electric cooktop. Just turn the coil on, let it get red hot, then toss the coals on for a minute or so, and your ready to go!!
