Water Level and Smoke Thickness

Recommended Posts

Too much water and it gets sucked up into the hose, ruining the hose and making it smoke worse. To little and it smokes real interesting (try it without water sometime!)Me and my friends used to try different stuff and we finally decided that it probably didn't affect it. I, on the other hand, always put as much water in as I can before it starts getting sucked in the hose.

It all depends on the size of the base and the pipe. I tried that 1.5" theory and it didn't work for me. I've always found, when I get a new hookah, that I have to test the water levels first but simply filling it with as much water as I see to be fit, putting the pipe in and inhaling with no head on. Depending on the amount of bubbles and the smoothness of the pull, the water level is good or not.It all depends, trial and error!Jon

1" is perfect for me. the more water in the basr, the less pull you
get(at least on my 4 nargilehs) a lot of bases have markings of some
kind that tell you the perfect water level for that specific setup.. if
not, once you get it perfect, you can use the design on the base. on my
last one(32"egyptian) the perfect level was just above the picture of
the prince of iran. hehe we named him oswaldo the conqistador! that was
sure a nice narg...
