Number Of Coals Per Session

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Just curious as to how many coals everyone burns through in an average session. Haven't made the jump to naturals yet and stick with 3k and seem to burn through them like crazy. If we load a medium funnel we typically start with at least 3 coals and get great thick smoke, but its quite coal intensive to keep it going. Too much, too little?

My Deep and wide bowl. With 3/4's of an exotica stick on it.

this bowl will last 2 sets of coals. so 1 & 1/2 sticks of exotica.

If I was using the silver light japanese coals I would be using 2 whole sticks or 8 pieces.

Well depends on type of shisha. A really wet shisha like fantasia I usually use 3 1/4 pieces on a regular bowl and that burns about 70-80% of the baccy. If its dry I usually use 2 1/4 pieces. For phunnel I always use 3 1/4 pieces.

Hey JD do you use 3 1/4 pieces for nakhla? I know it loves heat, I am starting to think all the Nakhla I picked up recently is just plain stale and gone bad. I never used to have an issue w/ it. It was actually the 1st shisha I started smoking, but the 2 batches I got recently I can't get to smoke right for the life of me.

I don't know if you remember i picked up the glycerin and it worked well for a few bowls, then it just went back to shit and the more glycerin im putting as it dries out and what not, the nastier its tasting.

hey matt smile.gif

The above configuration is what i use for Nahkla & Fusion. But that's quite a big bowl. And for the 2nd hour I place the 2nd set of coals in teh areas that are kinda coal-less on the above bowl.

What up JayDee

So for one of these bowls : http://www.hookahcompany.com/ceramic_hooka...d_1639_prd1.htm

would you recommend 2 1/4 pieces probably? And if using coco's I'd prob use 2.

I think I need to buy a new batch of Nakhla, so upset w/ the shit I recently got. Last I remembered with Nakhla you toss it in the bowl, put heat, if not alot of smoke, put more heat, and hooray huge clouds. Used to be so easy, now it's just not going well. I'm really thinking its old shisha.

Might be old Nahkla. It does appear that sometimes we get , literally, the shit stuff.

Try taking it and mixing 250g's of it with about 38ml's of glycaorin and about 8ml's of honey. Mix the hell out of it and let it settle.

However on that bowl then i would imagine that 2 1/4's of an exotica would suffice. Can't speak of coconara's as i've never used it smile.gif

I tried the glycerin/honey mix and it worked for the first few bowls, and then it started tasting nasty after a week or two, prob just old nasty baccy. So I guess we will wait and see until I get more tobacco.

I am excited for the MIZO, can not wait.
