HookahDuck
I've had problems cleaning the stem sections of my stargate. I soak them in hot soapy water for about 20 minutes, then run them under water while I use my long brushes. Still though, I can see little bits of stuff inside the stems. Would placing them in boiling water damage the finish?

hookahphxsmoker
Actually, the stargate is copper i believe. HookahDuck, i haven't been able to get my stem in two pieces, ya ever have this problem?
ioannisds
I think what you are seeing is the copper oxidizing inside the stem. It is not tobacco/smoke/etc. I noticed this on mine after the first smoke, and then cleaning it. I don't think it is any big deal, but perhaps someone else can chime in on this one. iheartvarg1
all that really matters is if it has a taste or not. i always get a lovely green water when i rinse my 36" syrian beass chiller. not a big deal at all. have you tried brushing with lemon juice and salt or a very dilluted isopropyl alcohol? yashman19
I've noticed that same crud buildup in mine. Once a month I take all the pieces, fill up the sink with hot soapy water, let em sit for 30 minutes, then take em out and use my hookah brush on them. After that they are as good as new. If this doesn't work for you, then I'm not sure what will. By the way, I too have a Stargate.
