What Will You Do With Your Kids?

Recommended Posts

im 21 so no kids for me now or anytime soon but im wondering what everyones opinion about smoking hookah and their kids(future kids) is.

my general thinking is this.In america its illegal to BUY ciggs and tabacco related products but not to use them so when i do have kids i think i might start smoking with them around 16.

its kind of the newer modern ideal of parents letting their kids and their friends drink in their house.in my mind it keeps your kids out of bad situations, off the road, and under your eye.i think a good knowledge of hookah and hookah culture could keep a kid from drugs.

just my thoughts and wondered if we had any parents with kids not quite old enough to smoke but not like ten years old haha.anyone got like 15-17 year olds?do you let them smoke?

My Daughter is 16 and I will let her smoke with me. She takes a few pulls. She also loves the Lucid line so that is better for her. I would rather have my kids smoke Hookah with me instead with some one else or cigs....blah.
When I was young I remember the curiosity I had with everything. No parental support or guidance. Moved out when I was 16 and lived with my Aunt and Uncle and finished High School as I promised my Father.

I would rather my kids not smoke at all. It can be harmful and hamper late developement (I continued to grow until nearly 20, my sister grew another inch at 22). During college I got into the partying heavily. When I came back from my freshman year though, I quit cigs. My cousins didn't quit after college, and they still smoke. One thing that contributed to this IMO is that my aunt and uncle both smoke cigs, and my parents don't. It was quite fine for my cousins to smoke at home, but would have been a problem if I had. I think parents actions can subconciously affect the way that children think and act as well.

When it comes time to have kids, I will stop with the hookah all together, as smoking & drinking during sperm production can have an effect on a future baby just as smoking and drinking during very early pregnancy. Read up on how nicotine affects sperm production and function.

I certainly wouldn't encourage my kids to smoke (except hookah) but if they showed an interest in it I would help them make an informed decision.

2nd. I am not going to try to get them to smoke, b/c it isn't good for your health, but if they want to, I will be there to show em what up.

Very well said. I was thinking the same about the harmful affects on growth, etc. After they hit 18 I'd let them make their own choice, but I won't be there holding a hose saying "You gonna hit this or what?" I imagine I'll probably stop/lighten up when making kids and then stop completely or really cut back right after they're born. I'll be smoking outside, very far away from where they'd be. If I ever have kids I think I'd tell them that I'll allow them to smoke cigars, tobacco pipes, and hookah when they're 18. If I catch them smoking cigarettes I think I'd tear them a new one.

My old man, creative genius he was, introduced me to smoking via the Parodi. It's a dry cured Italian cigar almost guaranteed to produce nausea and projectile vomitng to the novice smoker. Inasmuch as any other form of tobacco is pleasurable in comparison, the logic of the initiation is questionable.

I don't have kids, but a do have Parodis. And, of course, hookahs, cigars, pipes and an occassional ciggie.
