Tangiers From Tdp....

Recommended Posts

My friend who works for me at the bar, visited Neal while he was in LV. Picked up some Tangiers F-line Coco since he loves it and we are presently out. He let it Acclimate for more than enough time and it isn't right. Smells burnt and like it has been mixed with something like zagouhl. Has anyone else had problems with Tangiers they got from TDP or from the shop? Strangely enough the packageing was the older Blue printing instead of the current Red/orange and yellow.

I just got several packs of Tangiers from TDP and have had no issues with them at all. However, I'm by no means a Tangiers expert and a lot of the ones that I got are ones that I'm trying for the first time.

Same thing here got my Tangiers F-Line Apple...acclimated 48 hours and tastes like DIRT! I am letting it acclimate more, but maybe it's not the acclimation problem, there was a weird stem in the shisha that i though out out of habit of tossing stems...but i have never seen that in tangiers before.

Zaghloul is the traditional tobacco smoked in the middle east. There's quite a few different forms of it but it's very very strong and is smoked with the coals straight on top of it, no foil whatsoever. As much as I smoke I still can't handle Zaghloul expect in maybe 2 or 3 hits at a time.

I have two diff. tangiers from DPG. One smells and tasted fine. The others even after acclimation has a strong tobacco, smokey cigar smell to it. I dunno whats up. Maybe that's just how the flavor smells. Anyways just my 2 cents. I know he is going through a lot. So i dunno. It's probably nothing. Neal is a good guy. Edited by click

Well I ordered my first order of tangiers orange soda from TDP. It came in a sealed bag....in a starbuzz container. I would assume because it ships better that way, which doesn't bother me. I don't have any means for comparison except for some horchata i traded with someone, but kind of hard to tell.

I wish it smelled a little more like orange soda but it's still pretty close. And it doesn't kill my throat or anything, and it all looks uniform so I'm assuming no foul play.

you'd know pretty quickly..the stuff doesn't accimate right and has a distinct cigar/zaghoul/tobacco smell that is hard to miss.

If anyone got an f-line that was off, do you remember if the wrapper was blue?

I just want to assuage everybody's concern, I will be looking into this for you all.

Has anyone got tobacco from The Devil's Playground that didn't smoke well and then get tobacco from other vendors that was fine...is it specifically stuff from the Devil's Playground?

I've been on the phone all afternoon, I've talked to George, Neil, Mushy and assorted other players in the trade, and I'm trying to get a handle on it. It sounds implausible that this would happen, but I'm taking it very seriously, I assure you...

I just got some cooling from HC and it was in real old packaging. The outside wrapper was like it was air sealed and a ton of left over plastic on the top, and it was thin plastic and not the thick plastic that is around the wrap.

I agree I actually got some FAKE Nakhala called El Nakhala that was pretty much cigar tobacco. So my Orange Soda is legit. Sorry about your batch though.
