I figured it was fake because it was NOTHING like my reg. nakhla. The flavor was vanilla. It made a few of my friends sick after they smoked a bowl with it in it. I haven't touched it since. It honestly did smell like cigar tobaccol when we opened it, I was highly dissapointed.I assumed it was 'fake' because the same store carries regular nakhla and the boxes are different, different name, everything. I then ordered F-Line Apple and it smoked horrible after 48 hours acclimating. It didn't smell right but I tried it anyways. It has just finished the 72 hour mark still smells like yesterday. I might give it one more day of acclimating before trying it again. If need be I can send some to you. I am not an oficianado of Tangiers only been smoking it for a few weeks. nathan_Choi
I think I might have purchased my F-line cocoa from TDP. Came in the newer package, tastes fine.EDIT- looking at the pictures here, it in fact was the old packaging, not the new one. Acclimated it for almost 15 hours, still smelled nothing like WM, acclimated it some more, but still had that "burned" taste to it. Smoked awful too.But all the other Tangiers I've gotten from TDP has been great, so for me this was a one-time problem.
mushrat
ya..it's that "burnt" or cigar smell and taste along with acclimation problems we're tallying here...Anyone else?

Snoopy1966
I have some Cool Strawberry I just got from HS and it was not like the pack I got before. Tastes burnt or tobacco taste. I did the same as you did for acclimation and it is close to be filled in the circular bin.I dunno if I even want to open that pack of cooling I got from HC. Sonthert
Actually, that is real Tangiers old packaging...but legitimate. We used to leave the tail on it so retailers could hang them from those clippy things...El Nahkla is an alternate spelling for Nahkla, as far as I know. Like the master cases of Al Fahker from UAE say "El Fahkeer" on them.
staygone
The Tangiers I got a year ago, already smoked and fine, had the tail on them. It was the older label on it too (blueberry, k-peach, red tea, and blackthorn).Bring blueberry back! It is the BEST along with pear.-QM Edited June 12, 2008 by QuiltedMaple

jfaltous
Some more information about the Tangiers from TDP...Here's my most recent Tangiers orders.Picture #1: Tangiers ordered from MNH a few weeks ago... new packaging, nothing wrong with these as far as I can tell but I've yet to try any of themPicture #2: Tangiers packs from TDP, my most recent order. The first two packages were the "new" ones (although the Juicy Peach has the old label in it the packaging is the superior new style), the other 3 are the "old" style packaging. Other than the different style of packaging there didn't appear to be anything amiss about them. Along with these I ordered a few other Tangiers flavors from TDP such as Shnozberry, Maraschino Cherry, etc, and they were all in the "new" packaging and I had absolutely no problems with them.Picture #3: So I opened up the 3 "old" style packaging ones, and spread them out to acclimate. The consistency in each of them is the exact same, and the interior packaging on each one was untouched and the same high quality always found inside Tangiers... they were also marked with the typical silver marker, indicating the flavor of the contents. The Mixed Fruit and Cool Strawberry smell incredible (I kind of want to eat them), but the Vanilla smelled a bit off. I asked my two roommates to tell me what they thought it smelled like (blind smell test), and they both said it smelled like pipe tobacco. It does have a hint of Vanilla smell to it and I have no experience with Tangiers vanilla in the past so it might just be that it needs time to acclimate, or perhaps thats how its supposed to smell. After I give it time to acclimate a bit, I'll compare it to the other "new" pack of Vanilla that I have if it doesn't smoke well.As an additional note, the packaging was not tampered with in any way. I am 100% sure of that.
