ronald_dooley
Well, today I got my small Tangiers Superchief from MNHookah. Yesterday, I got my Nammor hose from Hookah-Shisha. I made sure to clean the inside of the Nammor hose with lemon juice and hot water before breaking it in yesterday. Oh... don't submerge the Nammor hose in water because the exterior is covered with felt. Use a funnel to run water through it. I packed the SC with some AF honey/melon mix. I packed it around the edge to above the rim and then pressed it down a bit. I made sure to only load the grooved edge and not to cover any of the holes. For heat, I used 1 40mm 3K coal, broken in half. Two words: MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT.The smoke came quick, thick, cool, and flavorful. It stayed that way. Really, my last hits were as good as my previous first hits with the old hose/bowl, no joke. Heat management was very easy; no harsh taste and just move the coals a bit every 5 mins. The Nammor hose has amazing airflow and lets you get big hits. The pictures are of my new setup with the Nammor hose and the new small Tangiers Superchief. I took these pictures after smoking for about an hour and going through 2 3K coals. Another noticeable improvement: no headache of any kind. I don't know why, but my head is clear and just fine. My previous setup was the same Mya QT hookah, but with a small, clay, Egyptian bowl and a standard Mya hose. If you are sitting on the fence about buying either of these products, BUY THEM! ronald_dooley
It was a bit of work. I decided to use a hybrid of all the available advice about the SC. One ring of large holes (made with a bamboo skewer), one ring of small holes (made with a safety pin), and one hole in the middle. It worked.I just finished smoking. There are a few minor issues with the SC: it is so wide that there's not a lot of clearance between the edge of the SC and the edge of my Mya tray! I had to be careful when I ashed the top of the bowl or swept coals into the tray. Also, towards the end of the session, the coals would start dancing towards the center of the foil, as other SC users have reported. But that's just nitpicking. The point, of course, is the SMOKE... and it was great.QUOTE (Stuie @ Jun 12 2008, 03:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Nice setup. That's unusual hole patterns...seems like a lot of work to me. ryno
The bowl and hose look really big for the hookah, but the color of the hose does go nice with hookah. I like it. Just have to ask, did you ever get your Tangiers to smoke right out of the supercheif?
hookah hippie
how does the superchief compare to a phunnel with a mod?
indian_villager
How much shisha does the small super chief hold? And as the above poster said how does it compare to a phunnel?
Balthazar
I'm wondering about the same thing as the two previous posters. My superchief is on the way from MNH, and I will break in my new Nammor when I get home from vacation in one week. Also got a small funnel that I love, and a JET funnel on the way. So, any advantages with the super chief? Good for Non-tangiers? I'm not a big fan of Nakhla + Funnel (traditional bowl works better for Nakhla in my experience), would the super chief do anything different?
