MrMoodz
My Mya QT has been getting a lot of action these past few weeks. I've had windcovers for a few years but never really used them. I am realizing that they really do improve your smoke. My windcovers are pretty large but only fit on my QT... But not my KMs. What do people use for a windcover for their KMs??? I did the hookah forum search and if this is a repeat question I apologize!!!
staygone
When the coco's are getting low, usually after an hour, the windcover saves the day. I usually get an extra 20 minutes with a wind cover.Aluminum foil windcover ftw with KM's.-QM Edited June 13, 2008 by QuiltedMaple

MrMoodz
I agree that Windcovers are excellent tools for heat management. The tin foil method is interesting. Now that you mention it I recall seeing a video of someone taking tinfoil, wrapping it around a coffee can and using it as a windcover. That's not a bad idea... but I am wondering if there is something more solid than using foil? For the time being I will use some Heavy Duty foil for a windcover for my KMs. Edited June 13, 2008 by MrMoodz

mushrat
my ass was once saved by a wind cover, knocked my 34" hookah over one day sitting on our new couch. the windcover trapped the bowl and coals so i was able to get them all off the couch without a burn. and my wife let me live...... Jeff_T
I have also been starting to use my wind cover much more recently. It is amazing for heat management and I can get over 1.5hrs out of cocos with it. I use the large Taj windcover as well. This fits all my hookahs and my KM pear, just not with a funnel bowl. I believe there was a video of Snoopy smoking and he had a windcover over his funnel on a KM. I think it fit because he had tongs or something underneath the cover to hold it up higher. You could try setting something in your tray and placing the windcover on top of it (like pieces of coal or something).
Rani
Hookah Company has an extra tall windcover that fits KMs and MZs. It's nearly 12 inches tall. I bought the same thing locally and use it all the time.'Rani
staygone
Get 2 shishcabob skewers and poke them on each side of the cover maybe?Could play some hot potato too, Gotta be gentle though and not tip over the hookah.-QM

iamscott06
If you have a KM or MZ with a tangiers bowl.. you could use thishttp://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/iamsco...p;current=3.jpgI drilled a couple extra holes on the top half and added the coat hanger to pick it up when it gets hot.. ryno
I cut some holes in a Tanquery gin tin and used that as a windcover on my Syrian. Works like a charm and is extremely tall
MrMoodz
Damn guys. I like all the ideas. I am going to get some spare tongs and have the windcover sit on top of it on my KMs. Damn I can't wait to try this!!That fez windcover looked pretty cool too. Definitely looks like it would work well with Tangiers bowls.

Almost identical situation for me but it was a 29" rather than a 34, it was on a new "Italian Leather" sectional couch that was not cheap.Thank god for windcovers.
