It Is Time

Well now that I am working again with a very nice paycheck I think I am about ready to buy a funnel bowl and my first round of tangiers. I was probably going to get a small funnel and one of the Lucid flavors.

I am asking for suggestions.

What would be the best flavor to start with?
I am not completely set on the Lucid line I just think it would be easier and less troublesome. I wish that I could sample the lucid flavors. The two places that had sampler packs for Tangiers seem to have dropped them so it's a 250 or nothing.

Horchata has been suggested but I can not find anywhere that currently stocks lucid horchata.

I'm sure someone else who has smoked more Tangiers than myself (only orange soda sad.gif ) but I've heard that Melon Blend is a good flavor. Brambleberry also sounds really good to me. I didnt have too much trouble getting the Orange Soda smoking right for my first go with it, and I liked it.

The regular tangiers is made a bit differently now, still same smoke, buzz, and flavor but they do some procedures differently and it requires pretty much no acclimation and burns very easily. Just overload a bowl, foil, and big and alot of holes, and your good to go. I love the melon blend and kashmir peach, I wasn't a fan of horchata, and i have brambleberry, schnozberry, and peach iced tea on the way from HS. I'll let you know how those are as well.

Def. pick up some melon blend it smells like watermelon bubblicious. And the k-peach was great but it has like a flowery taste at first with a peach kick at the end of it .

I have no issue with flowery. One of my favorite flavors is Layalina Jasmine.

What has been changed about the process of classic tangiers? Do you know?

I remember Canon talking about it, I can't remember what was done but everything is the same but the procedure of creating the tobacco is different, causing the tobacco to be less responsive to the humidity in the air, making it less likely to need acclimation and special techniques to packing it. All i do is use a small phunnel and pack the sucker about 1/8 of an inch above the bowl, then foil, huge holes, and smoke smoke smoke. After 1.5 hours i dump the good shisha in the bowl, (which is usually 80% of the bowl) into a baggie and then when i smoke that flavor again i mix about 20% fresh tobacco into it, and you are ready for your next bowl. That's what is so great about tangiers, tobacco never dies, always has full flavor, so you can reuse it multiple times.

I want to emphasis that the Tangiers Tobacco Standard line is NOT being made differently. The ONLY different thing about the product are the methods used to groom the tobacco. I cannot explain why some people don't need to acclimate the tobacco now but I can assure you 100% that only grooming techniques have been tweaked in the production process.

To get back to the topic though, as ryno said, many people like Melon Blend and Kashmir Cherry seems to be quite popular too. Edited by mdl

Probably has to do with the climate. If it gets shipped in a relatively humid atmosphere and then when it gets to its destination has a similar level of humidity, you wont need to acclimate. If you ship it in a humid condition and it ends up in a drier place like in AZ or NM or TX, you will have to acclimate. It just depends on the condition.

I'm just curious, but how do you know so much about Tangiers?

Back to the question at hand, I hear that the lucid Watermelon is pretty tasty.

I'm one of the people who makes the tobacco there.

Ah, right on. I figured you were somehow closely associated with Tangiers. I just wasn't sure.
