Oh my..

Recommended Posts

I just recieved my hookah today, along with various Al-Fakher flavours,
Al Waha lemon and an Al Amir double apple (guess they were out of Al
Waha double apple)

Anyway, I've smoked 2 bowls today, one Al Fakher grape, and another og Al Amir double apple.
Problem is, I didn't get much flavour from the smoke.. Not more than just a hint of it.
Smoke is good though, nice and thick.
I'm using about one teaspoonfull of tobacco, and three kings quicklights.
I tried using 2 coals on the Al Fakher, but the smoke got too harsh, So I cut it down to one.
Smoke was NEVER a problem, always thick and white.
The tobacco smells real nice and strong, but I don't know if i'm using too much or too little.
When i lift the foil, some of the tobacco sticks to the top, that's
what I noticed while smoking the Al Amir, I didn't check with the AF,
although, when I had finished the AF bowl, I noticed that the tobacco
had hardened into a little "cake" at the bottom and stuck in one big
piece.

I watched Cypress's video, and it was quite informing on everything except for how much to use..
I'd take pictures, but i don't have a digi camera.

So.. I cry at thee hookah smokers!
HELP!
90grams....? That seems like a waste...I thought I used a lot (around
25grams). I would feel like I'm smoking money instead of tobacco, how
much tobacco do you go through a week tangiers? ;)
lol i guess you could say he has an abundance of tobacco because he kindof owns his own tobacco brand hahaha

Back to poor david however...
You should try and keep the ma'asell off the foil. You may be burning it instead of cooking it, thus not getting the full flavour, just burning tobacco...
The black puck is what it SHOULD look like when you are done....
If you are getting smoke it means you probably don't have an air leak anywhere diluting the flavour. Thoug I must say you must have a really small/shallow bowl if a teaspoon is putting it that close to the foil. A deeper bowl in order perhaps?

Patting it worked like a charm..

I read this post this morning, before i went to work, but I haven't been able to come online until now.

Reasons;

Al Fakher Grape, Al Fakher Orange and Al Fakher Apple.

I'm definetly buying a 250 tub of the Al Fakher grape, and some of Tangier's cinnamon tobacco next.

So thanks for the replies everybody, I'm gonna have one last bowl today in your names.

1. Tangiers manufactures huge bowls based on the design of the old-school Kishawi bowls. That became my small size and then I came up with a medium and a large and an extra-large (special order on XL only). My XL holds about 80-100g of my tobacco. My tobacco is also far less dense than other brands. Use one of my bowls for a different brand and you'd probably use 120+ g.2. I smoke 75-375g a day. Sometimes I am experimenting and I only smoke it for an hour, sometimes I smoke a bowl 5-8 hours. So, on a weekly basis, roughly1.5 Kg.3. Some distributors call them party bowls...I call them Tangiers Heads or Tangiers Bowls. They are trying to be shiesty about giving me my props...Back to David (Mushrat's right)If the smoke is solid, it sounds like its packed correctly...Dew Point Data:

Akureyri, Iceland 14F, Akurnes, Iceland 9F, Hveragerdi, Keflavikurflugvollur and Reykjavik, 10F Vestmannaeyjar:No report.Sorry, I don't feel like translating fahrenheit into centigrade, the formula is ((F)-32)*5/9=C. If your weather is like that, and inside is roughly the same, that is really, really dry. Might be my favorite suspect, humidity shock. If the ambient humidity is lower than the humidity that the tobacco is used to, the tobacco will dry out (burn) too fast. Try opening it and leaving it open to the air for several hours, stirring occasionally. Then try it. If its not, then I think everything is OK, just the flavor is lighter than you expect.
