SimplexCoda
I have seen the Jet glass bowls and I want to know whats so much better about them that justifies the price tag over a regular phunnel bowl?
bjelder
I have not tried the jet glass yet, but I think a large part of the cost is the fact that its custom and hand blown. Its more of a piece of art IMO
SimplexCoda
art is fine and dandy. BUt i dont want to spend 50 bucks on a piece of art thats gonna turn black anyway.
OC4111
It shouldn't turn black, the glas should be able to be kept clean as long as you clean it after every session. Also it doesn't hold the flavor like a tangiers funnel tends to do over time. The thing I like best about mine is that it alot smaller so u end up using less shisha. I was using a medium tangiers and even after 2 rounds of coals i still had a good bit of shisha left. with the jet, since it holds about 20g with the mod, 2 rounds of coals is good enough. it leaves almost no uncooked shisha. mikeypas
from what i gather the jet funnel holds 20g, how much does the regular funnel hold? and what is the best type of funnel recommended for a one-person smoker?
iamscott06
QUOTE (SimplexCoda @ Jun 16 2008, 05:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>art is fine and dandy. BUt i dont want to spend 50 bucks on a piece of art thats gonna turn black anyway.I'v had mine since mnh's first batch. No black gunk. The mod has a little bit but i dont really even use it that much anymore. I just scrub it with a brillo pad (or some scrub pad) after a couple uses and it looks good as new. You use less heat as well.I can't wait for the glass screens.. it will be off the hook!
SimplexCoda
Ya they look nice and i hear good things about them, but i cant justify the price tag on them. Also if the glass screen were to come with it, then the current price might be justifiable.
NickReppinThe909
they look better and judging by how much todd uses his there has to be a big advantage to them
Snoopy1966
I use my Jet Glass Funnels and regular MNH Phunnel 90% to 95% of the time. They are easy to clean. A trick for the mod if you use it, wipe just a tad of olive oil on the inside and when you go to clean it, it come out squeaky clean. I just put it in some lemon juice and baking soda and use a plastic scrubby thing. I really do not use the mods though. I prefer not to, and I have it down very well so not much juices go down the bowl. The glass screen included in the price tag would be cool. I have a glass screen also. That is a little hard to clean but I get everything off of it. The glass screens take a little to get going but I really like using it. I just set the coals on there with a windcover for about 2 minutes and then take a few pulls and take off the windcover and move the coals around. The 50 bucks is well worth it. You can never get all the gunk out of a clay Phunnel bowl. I soak mine and have a brush that gets in there good to scrub, but I can not get all of the gunk out. Glass bowls you do not have that problem. You get a better taste of the tobacco, use less coals, and it looks awesome when the shisha is bubbling in the bowl. I trim the foil so it just fits. 2 of the Jet glass funnels I have hold about 25 to 30 grams. My blue Jet glass holds about 30 to 35 grams. and the regular MNH funnel hold about the same 30 to 35. If you are serious about smoking glass bowls are the best. Just be more careful then me and do not break it like I did.

SimplexCoda
alright, so snoop if you got any extra jet glass sittin around that you want to sell me for a highly discounted price let me know and i will give em a shot, but i can spend 50 bucks on a bowl. Unless of course it was a magical bowl that never had to be refilled or have new coals put on. I could swing 50 bucks then cause i would save A LOT of money.
