not being able to move was prolly from the buzz. I wont say that tangiers is the best, because everyone pallet is different, so it may be that you wont ever like it. But I wont discount that you may have done something wrong.

nicotine poisoning probably. (were you hungry at the time?)

i recommend you pack it with washed tobacco for a week or so till you get used to the mild buzz from that before going to all out tangiers. Edited by Scoop

OVERPACK the bowl. Me and a couple friend got FLOORED because I was still a Tangiers noob. We all had the same symptoms, minus the throwing up.

I solved this by reading up the how to's for packing Tangiers. My number one tip though is overpack the bowl, then pack it some more. Tangiers is wierd like that, but the results of a good bowl are worth it.

Do you really believe ONE bowl could be nicotine poisoning? I used to smoke up to 3 packs a day almost non-stop at the bar and never once did I throw up from nicotine.

Come on chaps.... Nicotine poisoning? Can you even get that from smoking?

If the guys is smoking Nahkla he should be able to take Tangiers.

Tangiers = 0.3%
Nahkla = 0.5%

Just a thought wink.gif

Yeah... I have Tangiers Brambleberry I got from Hookah-Shisha.com. I wanted to try Tangiers because a lot of people here seem to think it's so good.

First bowl = sucked. Burnt, nasty taste.
Second bowl = sucked. same.
Third bowl = sucked. Tried the overpacking thing, but it still burnt easily and tasted shite.

Next, I'm going to try reducing the heat. I used 3 CocoNaras on a small tangiers superchief. I'm going to try 2 coals, well lit and ashed. Maybe I'll enjoy tangiers this time, I dunno.

Al-Fakher for the win!

p.s. - got some Starbuzz blue mist coming from MNHookah this week, w00t!

I had a similar experience to maple. First time we packed it normally and got super buzzed(to the point where it wasnt fun) next time we overpacked and it was quite enjoyable.

And you cant absorb enough nicotine through smoking to posion you. It would have to be "thank you for smoking" status where nicotine is pumped into your blood directly.

you most definitely can absorb enough nicotine to get sick. nicotine poisoning doesn't mean instant death. you get ill first, and if you continue ingesting you can get really f-cked up.

it is harder to get nicotine poisoning if you regularly consume nicotine (through cigarettes, cigars, or other washed tobaccos).

Underpacking will often cause extreme nicotine rushes. This is because the tobacco doesn't build up enough heat and the nicotine boils off at a fairly low temperature, so some flavors are especially prone to this.
