willbb123
I just ordered a small phunnel from H-S, and 16 Coco Nara Coals from MN. I've searched the forum and could not find the best way to light the coals. I know you can just put the coals on an electric burner, but at my house I have gas (umm stove that is ). At my girl friends apartment she has an electric stove, does lighting the coals leave a mark on the coil? We already have a burn hole in the carpet so I'd rather not do any damage! I've read that I should probably put the windscreen ontop of it, is that a good idea?Any tips would be great! These are my first natural coals. Also any info that I get will probably find its way onto the HF wiki. Thankswb
frost91
i just got my box of coco and tangiers bowl yesterday and i smoked it today....fastest way to light coals would def be a blow torch for 30 sec each side and using a hairdryer will do the rest of the job...took me about 4 min to light 3 coals...good luck
staygone
Go to Walgreens and get a single burner. They don't leave a mark on the coils, and it takes about ten minutes to fully lite. Also, you can plug the burner in your garage or outside. All I use now are cocos on small phunnels. You'll be pleased.-QM Edited June 18, 2008 by QuiltedMaple

AzZ
Use that coil burner or a blow torch. I don't think we get those coli burners in the UK so I just use a torch, gets the job done
